Debuting in 2008 to much fanfare, Audi’s S5 coupe has set new standards in the once staid "personal luxury car" market. By combining the chiseled, elegant styling of the A5 with the rip-snorting power of a 354-hp V8, Audi has created a worthy competitor to the legendary BMW M3. For 2010 the bar is raised even higher with the addition of the voluptuous S5 Cabriolet.
While the S5 coupe carries over for 2010 with much of the same equipment (why mess with success?), the new drop-top model features a completely different powertrain, including Audi’s 3.0-liter Supercharged V6. Producing 333 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, the new V6 is nearly as powerful as the coupe’s 4.2-liter V8, yet weighs less and consumes less fuel. Also exclusive to the cabriolet is Audi’s dual-clutch, seven-speed transmission, which offers lightning-fast shifts and seamless power delivery; the coupe carries over with the option of a traditional six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. The new engine is likely to offer a different, yet equally thrilling, driving experience complemented by a howling supercharged soundtrack.
Styling has been the S5’s ace in the hole, and the new cabriolet is even sexier than its coupe stablemate. As is often the case, chopping the top endows the new model with classically beautiful proportions. The fully lined cloth soft top features full power operation, and a standard wind stopper keeps buffeting to a minimum.
Pricing for both models is competitive, especially given their generous specifications. Coupes start at $52,400, and the new cabriolet checks in at $58,250, a fair price for such a stylish package.

Comparing this car to others solely based upon it's 0-60 time ( less than 5 seconds is plenty fast) misses the point. Mechanically it's a masterpiece for sure...aluminum V8, herculean brakes, torque vectoring differential in an all-wheel drive set- up, etc. Esthetically, you will love this car once you take it out for a tour. The textures, fit and finish, interior (and exterior) design is gorgeous. Turn on the 505 watt Bang and Olufson audio and go! Feb 16, 2010

RPM fluctuate
Recently a tragedy happened to me. the story and the main problem of car are described below. If you guys has any idea, pls help and let me know. thank you in advance. have a wonderful day. MY car is 2010 audi s5, 70000 mile recently, the check engine light appear on dashboard, which is about intake running tunning(runner control). since my car is running well, i though there is minor problem, i have my car repaired in local auto shop instead of dealership. but that incompetent mechnical fail to repair my properly(i think he misinstall the component). when i pick up car from them and drive it on highway. there is loud noise comming from engine and car was shaking. so i send my back to them and they fix it in next day. they told me there is no problem, when i test drive my car. i only can feel there is little difference but not noticeable problem( no check engine light, gearbox light) so i just let it go. after driving 500 mile later, the car has mainly suffered two problem: Abnormal Coasting (only happened after letting off gas pedal), i have recorded it and post it in youtube, PLS CHECK IT: https://youtu.be/8SY4aJnAq40 When my car is running on high way, I hit the accelerator to 2900 RPM and then let off the gas to let my car coast. the rev drops and then FLUCTUATE couple time. meanwhile , I can hear noise "emememme" coming from (catalytic convertor or transmission). When sound is there, car is slow down QUICKLY (feel like harsh downshifting) as If I was pressing the brake lightly but I did not . 1 or 2 second late, When sound gone. Car is coasting as the NORMAL, the car is slowing down GRADUALLY (normal) Each time, when coming to stop, the RPM needle jump one time then decrease to normal idle speed. Only happen one time. when my car is running on the downhill(really sharpe). Again I let off the gas and let the car coast. The rev is stuck in 2000 RPM(gear is stuck??). The brake is stick. At that time, there is sound like emememememem!!!!. I have to hit the accelerator again. rev goes up. Then I hit the brake , my car slow down and the rev goes down. the second problme is my car is hard to acceelrate (not noticeable problem) When engine is cold, when i drive my car out of garage, I hit the accelerator, it is easy to accelerate and get about 4000 rpm. But right now, it is hard to go over 3000 rpm.

starter problem in damaged audi s5?
so i have this broken audi s5 2010, the buttons on the key do not work, however u can turn the ignition on, but not start the vehicle. the damage was not severe, it was it in the right front side, mainly under the car was damaged, like the radiator needs to be replaced and plastic bumper, and some hoses too. it looks like the previous owner drove over something and it went under the car. the coolant spilled out of the car. The computer says service due and check coolant level. when i apply the brake and try to start the car it makes two ticking noises, like the engine wont turn over, just the starter makes one tick when u push in the key and one tick when you release the key. i was curious as too if this is a computer problem or not, because i know a vehicle with coolant or without should start no matter what. yes the engine would start on fire but it should turn over. I will probly have a person look at the car to fix it. but im here to see if anyone can answer this problem. also i'd like to say that the right side air bags went off, and i do not have the emergency key, its missing.
