Mazda CX-7 2009 alarm keeps going on randomly when I lock the car with the Mazda key. I changed the battery 2 weeks ago but the problem was happening even before. What I should I do ?

Now in its third year of production, the Mazda CX-7 crossover SUV receives only minor upgrades for 2009. All '09 CX-7 trims now come equipped with dual illuminated vanity mirrors and an MP3 auxiliary input jack for the audio system. The entry-level Sport trim gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob as standard equipment for '09, as well as new optional dual heated front seats with a power-adjustable driver's seat. The high-end Grand Touring trim receives new exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals and an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror with Homelink, as well as minor interior finishing improvements. The mid-level Touring trim rolls into 2009 with no changes.
As it has since its debut, the five-passenger CX-7 rides on a unique platform designed to mix a sports car feel with SUV functionality. The CX-7 borrows many of its exterior elements from a number of Mazda and Ford vehicles, combining them in a aerodynamic design that most find stylish and contemporary. All three trims, including the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring, come in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions.
A turbocharged 2.3-liter, direct-injection four-cylinder engine that produces 244 hp continues to drive all CX-7 trims. Overall, drivers and reviewers give the turbocharged engine good marks to its performance and responsiveness. Fuel economy remains a negative for many, however, with the CX-7 checking in at 17/23 mpg for front-wheel-drive trims with a six-speed Sport AT automatic transmission with sport shift, and 16/22 for all-wheel-drive trims with the same automatic transmission. The CX-7 runs on regular unleaded fuel, though Mazda recommends premium fuel for maximum performance.
For a mid-level crossover SUV, the CX-7 comes well-equipped and remains a good value for drivers, according to many reviewers. Standard features across the line include power windows and door locks, cruise control with steering-wheel-mounted controls, and illuminated keyless entry, as well as 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, antilock brakes, Dynamic Stability Control, and traction control. The mid-level Touring trim adds heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, leather-trimmed upholstery, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat. At the top of the line, the Grand Touring trim adds xenon automatic on/off headlights, heated exterior mirrors, fog lamps, and leather seat upholstery with a sport seat stripe.
Despite its interior features, however, some drivers and reviewers detract points from the CX-7 for its interior, due to its lack of flexibility, cramped rear seat, mix of materials borrowed from other Mazdas, and controls that some find confusing. On the positive side, the CX-7 gets good marks for its many safety features. It received a five-star rating, the highest possible, from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for frontal- and side-impact crashes, and a four-star rating for rollover resistance.

In 1 months I made put 25K km (17K in miles) and everything is perfect. Ive been to a few long trips, its such a fun to drive this car at these long trips - this is where its a its best. Gas mileage is a bit on the high side, especially at winter, but hey, you cant have everything. Im a bit worried reading all the bad reliability reviews for 2015 that I decided to write this one. Great combination of sport and utility. This is my 2nd CX-7. Purchased my 09 CX-7 AWD Sport(w/Bose and sunroof)in March after completing a short term lease on an 07. Perfect vehicle for a small family or an adventurous couple. Its a car(?) I love to drive on a daily basis and its fantastic for road trips.(I mounted a trailer hitch on mine and we take our bicycles with us on our trips.) Mileage was quite poor on my 07, but I still bought my 09. Surprisingly mileage is better on my 09. I get around 18-19mpg in local driving and as much as 24mpg in pure highway driving(w/premium). For a little under 23K this is a CUV that could compete with more more expensive vehicles.

I just bought this CX-7 this month. I am very excited about this SUV. Drives and handles great. Has a turbo 4 cylinder that feels like a V-8. Awesome power, especially when you need that extra boost to get on the freeway, or just changing lanes. The interior feels like a glove. Fully loaded was the way it came. Even have seat warmers and power seats. Has excellent sound system stock with mp3 and media connections. I Drove all the competions SUVs that were in its class, however, this was the best by far for money, performance and style and comfort. Excellent SUV. I am very happy and I got a great deal below invoice!

Straight out of the showroom, this sweet engine gave me 27.8 mpg while driving both city and highway miles. Its gutsy, sleek, well made, and exceptionally responsive. Compared the Scion, Honda Element, Rav4, Mazda 3, Saturn Vue, and chose this car. My expectations are high and it delivers. At my fingertips are great, useful features, plus it earns high safety scores, and has excellent cargo room. Ive owned pickups, vans, station wagons, a jag. This vehicle capitalizes on the best features of each of them. Its sporty, handles on dime, can haul big stuff, has plenty of guts. Cuts through Michigans snow, doesnt lose its grip on slippery roads. Im so happy I bought a CX7! Feb 24, 2023

Performance oriented car. I currently have a HKS RS Intake w/ Corksport TID, HKS SSQV IV BOV, and CP-E 3" Dual Cat back installed, Feels like a bigger Mazdaspeed 6. I bought this car for its interior space and cargo room that was lacking in my Rx-8 and Rx-7, but I didn't want to sacrifice performance and style. I also plan on having kids in the next year or two, so I got to be prepared considering all I have are sports cars. ;)Feb 07, 2015

I love everything from my CX-7. To begin the style is aggressive as well as elegant, even though, I am not entirely sure how did Mazda incorporated both words in one sentece. Performance, I drove many vehicles and in comparison to other vehicles in its class the the CX-7 has to be at the top of its class. Everything is down the middle, modern look, great stability, reliability, and performance. The 2.3 Turbo expresses crisp power, and the suspension great stability. The interior I would like for the cloth of the sits to be slightly tougher, but if you take care of the vehicle, you should not have any problems with it. The driver sit raises up, which I think is amazin! Also, lots of space to carry around all your stuff. Overall, I still think is a great buy! May 30, 2012

Nice S U V with a sport perfomance for a 4 cylinder turbocompressor 266 hp. Not for use off rode it is for the highway were it belongs. The only negative is that the door lock done put automatic after 10 mphJan 20, 2010

CX-7 engine stutters when floored at 60 kmph
My end 2009 Mazda CX-7 with a 2.3 litre petrol engine + turbo stutters when I floor it while moving around 60 kmph. The engine is alright even if I floor it from rest. It's also alright if I step on the gas pedal till about 95% while moving at 60 kmph. Does the engine need more torque/power when floored while moving at 60 kmph compared to being floored from rest? Things that I can think of are spark plugs, petrol filter/pump and air filter. The one thing that I'm hoping is not the problem is the turbo. I've heard that the CX-7 has a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and jerking while accelerating is one of the symptoms. However, the other symptoms are not present. http://www.carboncleaningusa.com/throttle-position- sensor/gas/mazda/323-1-6-l-82 Any idea what is causing this problem? Would the Mazda service centre be able to trouble-shoot the problem through engine diagnostics alone? I hope that they won't give me a list of possibilities which would mean that I have to change multiple components one by one.
