my montero sport wont start
my Montero sport wont start, it tries but it wont catch. its like its not getting gas. this is the first time it has done this. it started this morning then died

it is very good on the gas the space and for winter time the 4x4 its grate!! I will recommended to any of my friends or someone that is looking for a good 4x4 suv or family car its grate for a really nice trip. May 26, 2014

I bought my 2000 Monterro Sport a in 2010 for around $4000 with 148,000 miles on it. It has served me well for the past couple of years. It's had a leak somewhere near the back of the engine causing it to purge oil, and causing a slight burning odor since I purchased the truck. It's not a huge problem and can either be fixed or resolved by topping off the oil every couple of weeks. Recently, the torque converter has begun to slip, and an electrical issue has emerged that drains my battery overnight. My solution currently is to disconnect the battery when I'm not driving. The problem with this is that the engine idle settings have to be reset every time I drive the car after reconnecting the battery. This leads to stalls when the car is stopped for the first 30 minutes of driving until the idle controls are reset. Overall, I like the vehicle, it just seems that I found a lemon.Jan 31, 2013

Love my car! It's getting to be on the older side but it's never made me walk. Definitely the most low-maintenance vehicle I have ever owned. The only money I've ever put into it has been for regular maintenance, such as oil changes, tires, brake pads, radiator flushes, etc. Would definitely recommend to anyone and have even considered trading it in for a newer model when I am ready to buy again.Aug 05, 2008

Mitsubishi Montero sport problem
My 2000 Mitsubishi Montero sport starts and runs for about 4 minutes and then it bogs out and then some smoke comes from the bottom of the engine and hits the exhaust this all happened when I cut my wires because I needed the battery quick and when I connected the wires back to the new battery I might have done it the wrong way ever since then it starts drives for a little bit but then bogs out like I'm running out of gas and then eventually turns off please help me out

Timing belt broke (I think) is my engine trash?
About a week ago, my Montero developed a pretty bad ticking noise. People were saying it was my lifters and I had my oil changed. RIGHT after the oil change about a quarter mile down the road the car just quit. No warning or anything just stopped and did not start again. I'm now told my timing belt has probably broke and it probably bent my valves and destroyed my engine. I'm wondering how I know whether or not it can be fixed. Thanks!
