I have had my 2000 Tracker since brand new and have nothing but praise for it. It has been an awesome vehicle and still is, 25 years later. Time to invest in a new vehicle though. Love it. Hate to get rid of it.Oct 16, 2024

The only thing I don't enjoy is the Defroster it doesn't produce enough heat to keep windshield and side windows in the front to clear the windows properly.Ans the rear seats need a much better way to release them,then just a stupid little strap that keeps loosing the pins for the release.Feb 11, 2015

I like everithing in this car, fun to drive , four wheeling is an adventure, very economic on gas and repairs, very quiet no noises, no blind spots , good loocking litle truck, high visibility, good stability, good power and stoping distanceFeb 01, 2014

I bought my 2000 4wd, conv, auto trans, 2 liter eng, in mint cond with 40k miles last year for 4k. It's like new so it was an outstanding deal. It's got cruise, a/c, cd, ps, pb, tilt wheel, probably all the extras one can have. It has a full brush guard, fog lights and looks awesome. I was looking for an antique bronco when I found this. It reminded me of the bronco, with a beautiful medium blue color, and a white top that removes. Unlike the old bronco's when I drove this it felt like a new caddy over the bronco, with what I figured would be much better fuel economy. The 2.0L gives it plenty enough power, but being an automatic I am guessing robs it of mileage. I get 23 mpg, and was hoping for 28-30 like I knew my other one got that was a 5 speed with the same engine. It would probably get better mileage with no brush guard and a change to a radial light truck tire. It does drive great like it is brand new. The only other 4wd conv is the jeep wrangler but they get aweful mileage. My belt squeaked so I checked and cleaned all my pulleys and it went away. It's 2.0L suzuki engine I believe is built to really last very well. So I think I will keep this for a good long time.Nov 09, 2010

Loved it! I only traded it in for a larger car because we had another baby, and we couldn't fit everyone in it if we added any other people (ie grandma). The seats were a little hard, but loved driving it.Jan 08, 2010

This car is pretty beast, it can haul marimbas, drums, lumber and snow blowers, it can take a speed hump and it can drive in the snow without any problems. My car can stop on a dime and is easy to manuver around. Its got quite decent pickup too Jun 29, 2009

Uh...its manual transmission, 4wd ,so thats pretty good.
Only got a 4 banger though. Things are always kind of
screwin up. Driver's side window gets stuck. The parking

Fun to drive... Stylish interior and exterior... 4 cylinder, great gas mileage... Has a roll over factor so cant take crazy turns too fast lol... great condition, engine purrrs :o) Made it to Florida and back! It has almost 200,000kms on it and its still working like they day my granny had bought it. The frame on it is awsome. only thing i would do is put a skid plate on it. overall apperance isnt that bad. tons of fun to drive it!!!

why does it stall?
It has 70000+ miles and it tends to stall when idling or if you turn it off to run into a store for a short time it does not want to start backup. After about 10 or 15 min. it will start and run fine again.

I have a 2000 Chevrolet tracker 1.6 liter it will start and run fine then after. Of you know half an hour or so it will die and will not crank back up spirit. Then let it sit for a while and it will crank back up and restart the process

Boing noise turning left in a 2000 4x4 Chevy tracker
It's quite loud only drivers side does it. I'm assuming it's some sort of suspension problem not sure what. Trying to diagnose before I take it any where so I sound like I know what's going on....for the most part. I have basic mechanical knowledge, have driven a lot of beaters and worked on them myself when I could. Money is always an issue......single parent yadda yadda....always try to get my own parts etc. If you need more diagnostics Lmk. Grateful for any info, cheers.
