wont start
i have a mercedes slk 1996 i was driving down the motorway and i lost power while driving. I have changed the fuel pump and also the fuel filter. It will try and kick in. but then turns it off.

Great sports car for the money
Good gas mileage
Comfortable on long trips but limited trunk space with top down
All of the early slk have problems with peeling dash and rear lights premature burnout

I really enjoyed driving this car it was easy to handle and rode very well. I enjoyed riding with the top down and letting the wind blow through my hair. As well as the looks I got while riding in it!Jan 30, 2013

Purchased 2 silver 1998 mercedes slk 230s. One has blue leather interior and the other red leather interior. Not sure which one I like best. Got a good deal on both because they were wrecked but were easy fixes. They are fast, beautiful,fun and handle great! The blue one is completed and on the road. Rare supercharged cars.Jul 06, 2012

* Performance: 193 hp for a two-seater gets you going up to 250 kph (155 mph) like a marvel (oh yes, I have driven that speed many times).
* Quality: I bought it used with four previous owners, as a nine year old car with 102,000 km (63,380 miles). Since then it has only few repairs. Since it has a hard top, it can operate in winter just a well as in the summer.
* Appearance: stunning beauty.
* Cost of ownership: The way I drive, it consumes lots of gas, about 14 litres / 100 km (approx 17 mpg), but you should be able to drive it more efficiently with 10l / 100km (23 mpg).

Was lucky enough to be one of the first few people to drive this car around in the UK as it had been pre ordered in Germany before it was put into production. Fantastic car that REALLY performed well and was quite an attention grabber when it first came out. One of the first hardtop convertibles on the market I believe.Apr 05, 2008

This car is really great to enjoy summer in. The electrical convertible si really cool and since it's basically a foldable hardtop you won't need to worry about bad weather either.
Only basic comfort, though you wouldn't expect more. Loads practically nothing (since the roof folds into the trunk).
Still quite enjoyable and the 2,3 litre supercharged engine is suprisingly quick and sounds good.Apr 01, 2008

The convertible button fell into the console through the small center hole.
It won't just retrieve back up and out again. I HAVE to open the console to work it's base back flush with the console which requires opening the center console where it's located? Does anyone know the process? I don't see a U- Tube on this particular problem. Thanks, Jim
