Acura got the recipe near perfect with the Integra! It's unfortunate they made the corporate decision to drop two door vehicles from the line up and focus on sport utility vehicles. Their current design philosophy has polarized customers. For the premium price, Acura has not distanced itself perceptually from Honda as well as Lexus did from Toyota.Dec 19, 2013

I bought the car to daily drive. I get about 30 MPG. It may lack some power but is
a blast to drive around. I havnt spend much on maintenance at least nothing other
than oil changes. The outside of the car looks pretty good that why I bought it.

Love Integras overall but this one has seen better days. 200k on the clock.. (The Odometer I mean. The actual clock gave out around 200,000 xD ). Fun to drive and easy on gas. Good for delivering pizzas around town :) really?Oct 20, 2011

car is really good in city and on highyway,was goin 145 no problem through the mountains.amazing.needs a different paint job though,and doesnt take off as well as my jetta had,but once itz up there it goes better than tha jetta.gas is good,e-brake i weak though,doesnt work to well for anymore than keepin it parked out of park.Jun 14, 2011

i personaly think the integra gsr is the best integra you could posably get besides the type r witch i would go with the gsr before the type r anyway gota love the b18c1 v tech engine they run very strong and last forever if you aint a complete dumass it just a real comtherable car to drive but never i repeat never buy a integra ls there bum ass integras only gs gsr and type are are any goodOct 12, 2010

I made 417HP and 409 torque to the ground out of the
factory engine.
A friend of mine I sold it to with my new build made 508hp
to the ground with approx 437torque.
I have yet to see the car today after that power was

I love my car because its a sleeper. No one expects my stock looking car to be fast, but it is real funny when i step on it next to an unsuspecting muscle car and my fully built B18B1 turbo lights up the tires as i blow their doors off! EVERYTHING RIGHT DOWN TO THE BADGES ON THE
CAR. The only thing that could have been better is
the size of the cup holders but it really doesn't
matter.
I mean you don't buy a sports car to put drinks in it
that's why they have coolers and mini-vans.
Four cylinder cars have it all now days, you can get
more power out of the engine, maybe not torque
but to some people that doesn't matter. Great gas
milage. Just an all around nice looking cars. I wish
they would have never stopped making the good

I love this car! Bought it used with a bunch of miles, but good outside, and interior 9/10. It's loaded, great performance for its size, and it handles! Like it better than any I owned since 1979 Trans Am. It is the car I have liked best in thirty years. It is pure fun. Open the windows, and sunroof and drive! Drives like a honda should, breaks like a honda should not, but it breaks like a b18 should. Oil problems, electrical problems, distributor problems, etc. But I have fun getting from point a to b. I reccommend this car to whoever loves to hate their cars.Sep 18, 2009

The car gets great gas mpg. The car is manual which i wanted for my performance needs. The maintenance on the car is slim to once every 4 months. The car is fun cause i can control what gear i want to be in, which makes it easier to powerslide. Sep 01, 2009

Great gas mileage, especially when I lived in the City back then. Must be a stick, any 4 cylinder vechiles in auto tranny is terrible. In general rule of thumb stick you have more control on the car than auto. Auto basically the car controls you. In the snow, forget it, auto tranny is the worst depending what you drive. On a little coupe like that, especially at 17, snow or not doesnt matter. LOL

Okay acceleration with pretty good bakes and good handling.
The build quality was good. Not too many rattles or anything. The car was a bit pricey for me when I bought it but wish I still had the car. It got good gas mileage and maintenance was low. This car was really fun to drive and I really put it through some hard driving conditions.May 31, 2009

I liked it. It was a fun car to drive, easy to maintain, cheap
to repair and great to look at. The automatic transmission
was pretty wack though. It shifted between gears
randomly and it was kinda slow. The back seat was really
small, but the trunk was massive. Sound system was

Well the car is super fast...It has a t304e turbocharger cranking out 10psi boosting the b18c1 to over 250whp....It does need a few new parts such as a rear shock and a new clutch (stock still not slipping but upgrade to a stage 3 very soon) and it is in bad need of a paint job. The interior is 9/10 very clean. I got about 32mpg before the turbo so it most likely will be a bit less due to my heavy right foot...the car is very fun to drive and when vtec kicks its awesome!!!!Jan 24, 2009

This car was as well made as all but my Audi. The Audi was abnormally smooth for it's age. Otherwise, this car was the best. It too was a manual transmission and I think it's one of the better looking cars of the late '90's. Mine was this same color. Acura calls it "Stealth Grey" but I think it's more of an eggplant color. The 1.8L 4cyl was pretty strong for the time and I put in a cold air intake that extended to just inside the front passenger wheel, which gave it a little more punch. Ran this one to about 140,000 miles before selling it.Dec 30, 2008

The biggest problem with my car that i dislike is that it is automatic. The car performs ok for 4 cylinder but could be better. I got a good price on it for only having 50k on it so the cost wasnt bad. The exterior is clean along with the interior. It gets good enough gas mileage and is boring to drive. Sep 15, 2008

First off you gotta be a honda fan that likes to mod.
Better off finding a GSR or Type R version of the integra, it puts out a lot more horsepower and torque than the LS. Insurance can be high. It gets amazing gas mileage, if oil os changed a lot and engine is maintained.

Acura integra not starting
So my car wouldn't start a couple weeks ago. Would crank but not turn over so I listens for the fuel pump couldn't get hear it so I replaced it of course. Well I put the new one in and the new one still wouldn't turn on. So I replaced the main relay/fuelrelay. And the pump still wouldn't turn on. So I got a test light tried testing the wires to the fuel pump and it wasn't getting like power so I figured that there was a grounding problem not allowing the relay to open. The fuel pump ground goes through the ecu so I thought maybe that was broken so I replaced the ecu and still nothing. What's going on? It's a 1997 Acura integra gs

1997 Acura Integra barely accelerates from stop. Why won't it rev up when in gear?
1997 Acura Integra 1.8L Auto Trans, when accelerating from a stop, the engine will not rev up. With the pedal pushed nearly to the floor the car will vary slowly accelerate, eventually once it gets to approx 3000 rpms it finally starts to create power and will accelerate down the road. If I manually down shift it to nearly a stop but keep the rpms up it will keep on accelerating back up again, but if I stop and let the engine come to an idle it starts the process again barely able to get out of its own tracks. I've checked the throttle position sensor (TPS) and the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, the circuit from the TPS to the transmission control unit (TCU) and the transmission solenoids and all test just fine. The engine idles kinda low (approx 600-700 rpm) and seems to rev up a little slow even when in park, but as soon as you put it in gear, it will barely rev up and move the vehicle. Also, the Trans does up-shift pretty hard. Oh, and I changed the fuel filter. I pulled trouble codes with my scanner and I'm getting P0700 and P1790, the scanner states both are Trans related but I'm a little skeptical. What in the world is wrong with this stupid car?
