LOVED this car - Pininfarina designed cabriolet, had a great sound - wasn't fast but it was zippy and handled really well for a soft-top. Great looking car and was very cheap - they will be a classic some day and will be a fairly reliable classic - not a very reliable daily driver though!Apr 16, 2012

19 Turbo Diesel . Performance Is Fairly Good & Handling Is Excellent . Build Quality Is Average Has Some Trouble In Electrical System. Appearance Is The Best Since Its A 3dr Hatchback . Cost Of Ownership Is Very Low For MPG If Obviously You Dont Mess With The Pump . The Car Is Very Fun To Drive =)Mar 13, 2010

i've a 2.0 xsi 8v 306...a good fun car to drive...love the seats in it...great on the bends...there is good power in but a little more would be good for the weight of the body...an exhaust and induction kit and fast road cam would sort that out...overall a very good car...just look after it with a service every so often...Feb 11, 2010

This car has great handling and the suspension takes quite a beating without fault. Since I have the 1.4ltr model the accelaration is sub par and it will annoy you. To it's credit, it is a quite nice looking carAug 04, 2009

I owned 4 or 5 of these cars, from a 1.9D to a 2.0 XSi, all nimble, spacious and cheap-ish to run. Far better than the bog standard Escorts of the day, they drove well and handled with aplomb.
The interior was a vast improvement on the old 309 and the looks, whilst not stunning, were neat and tidy. There were few downsides to these cars, other than the fragility of them at high miles.Jul 18, 2008

I bought this car on ebay for £250, it had been stood for a year in a garage doing nothing, had to tow it home since battery was knackerd, fuel in it had gone off and it had no tax or mot anyway. Got it home, got a new battery for it and drained the old fuel and put some fresh diesel in it, had the engine running in seconds and it runs perfect. It only failed MOT on a bottom ball joint and a light bulb! So its in for its re-test on wednesday and its cost under £10 to fix it for Mot! BrilliantFeb 10, 2008

My 96 pug TD is slighty modded with 17" rims, Brake upgrade, Angel eyes, Dump valve and K&N filter. Pretty fast for a chugger!Jan 26, 2008
