My 1990 Ford LTD Crown Vic has an issue where when it reaches a certain speed it spitters and runs like crap. I’ve replaced the air filter, cleaned the throttle body, cleaned the egr valve and replaced the throttle positioning sensor. When I first replaced the TPS it ran like a dream but started back up after a day. So I took it back and replaced it again for the same result.
So i have it all on came to issue the throttle cable and transmision kick down cable are reversed on the spring loaded throttle lever on bottom side amd wont work properly any ideas on what i should do
My transmission is slipping, it takes off just fine and shifts into second just fine, but after that it just revs up and won’t shift around 45mph. Checked and double checked the transmission fluid and it’s fine.
The kickdown cable for TV pressure valve on my '90 Ford LTD Crown Victoria 5.0 L (Ford AOD transmission) is broken and needs to be replaced. This was detected during a transmission overhaul. Unfortunately I cannot find any replacement part at ebay, rockauto etc. Hints where I can get this part are extremely welcome. Many thanks !!!
Until yesterday, the ignition warning chime on my Crown Vic was working properly. The chime turned off after a few seconds when turning the ignition switch to ON. Now the chime keeps ringing even when the engine is running. What's wrong ? Should I check the chime module or is this a malfunction of the ignition switch ? I noticed that the Fasten Seat Belts indicator light within the instrument cluster only lights up when the chime module is connected.So I actually want to fix this and not just to discobbect the module from the switch.
