1990 chevy 2500 5.7 occasional hesitation
1990 chevy 2500 5.7 occasional hesitation/drop in RPM's after warming up. I did cap and rotor, plugs and wires along with the TPS. i also checked timing. any other ideas?

The thing I like the most about it is it's clean, goes down the road and was a cheap/great buy. Easily a 3,000 truck and I got it for 1,500. Unfortunately it sat for 2 years before the old man decided to sell it so I threw in some new spark plugs, battery, battery cables, fuel filter, oil change and oil filter. I love the truck and might not even sell it once it's done, you can't go wrong with an old tank like thisJul 30, 2014

I love this pickup, 292,000 miles and still rolling strong. We commercially cut and sell firewood and because of the terrain where we live, we have have made this truck our skidder. It has a 400c.i. motor with tbi that someone stuffed in there a long time ago and she still has never backed down from a tree. except for the honkin 100ft larch, that finally took my rear bumper, the front hooks, 3 stretches of cable, my hitch, and finally my spare tire carrier, which we used as a last ditch effort on the last hook. Tough as nails though we rebuilt her and she got the tree up, all 115ft of it. She has pulled 20 more cords since then. The myths about IFS are false, at least for this rig, all original front cv joints and tie-rods, and she is still smooth on the highway, with a little vibration because we canned the thermal actuator crap and permanantly locked the front end. solid right down to the core, the frame is shot, but it still works well on our farm, is an exellent truck for boggin around in the woods, and great for taking the dog and the girl out on saturday nights. :) May 19, 2012

It's a truck. It can get from 10 to 14 mpg in-town. The acceleration isn't bad as long as it's already going. The build is fairly decent on it and it looks good when in great shape. It handles the corners fairly well with the stock steering but these trucks can be so much better with a little work. Jan 06, 2010

Best truck I've ever been involved with. Plenty of power, good brakes, comfortable and roomy cab and 4-wheel drive. Only wish is that it was all-wheel drive instead of having to pull it in once the slippery starts. I've gottne as high as 19 m.p.g. and that was in the mountains with all our camping gear. It always starts (except when the fuel pump quit at 230,000 miles.Aug 29, 2009

i bought this truck in august 2006 and put 1500 bucks into it took it all apart put all new parts into it and it runs great and looks great for 340'000 k's on it but a replaced 305 with 120'000k's on it its actually an 89 but it wont go lower than that

Ive had this pickup for a long time. It is a real pickup. They dont make them like this anymore. Even though a lot of this truck is aftermarket mostly things to make it more even more bullet proof or to correct known problems. Like the steering box brace. The new trucks coming out today will most likely never see the things this truck has, nor live to tell about it.
It is a daily driver but it gets driven hard and used like big four wheeler. Its been known to climb hills, rocks, transverse deep water, and mud. Pull trees, haul wood, steel work benches, ATVs, mulch, furnature, and remove other vehicles not so well equipt.
Mods: 355 V8 bored .030 over (obviously) Keith Black Hypereutectic single relief pistons, Comp Cam, Edelbrock double roller timing chain, Edelbrock Performer intake modified to fit onto Swirl-port center bolt valve cover heads. Edelbrock Carburater, K&N filter and K&N off road wrap.
Centerforce dual force racing clutch. Hydraluic clutch, 4speed Muncie SM456, NP205 t-case, GM Corporate 14 bolt 10.5" ring gear with locker and open Dana 44 front. 3" body lift, 4" suspension lift, 36x12.5x16.5 Super Swamper IROKs.

Why dose my truck act like it wants to die driving down the road
I have a 1990 chevy k2500 Silverado with a 5.7 in it and as iam driving down the road it acts like it is flooding out and i rebuilt the tbi changed the fuel pump and filter changed the computer,ignition coil,ignition modular in the distributor new IAC, new tps iam stumped help please
