Well, where can i start... I always liked german cars, but the Ascona really is something a bit special. The mk1 was introduced back in the 70's as a mid-sized family car. Back then, the car really was a breath of fresh air for opel as they have been sturuggling back in the 60's. The first ascona, the A, was built to rival the very well know Ford Taunus. By 1975 Opel have produced more than 690,000 cars. The engines weren't really powerful ranging from 44kw-66kw.
Anyway back to the subject of my car, it was the C. In the UK the car was called Vauxhall Cavalier. It kicked out around 160bhp, Ok, I admit, not the fastest car i've ever been in but definetly quiet nippy. The built quality was very well (as you would expect with German cars). The one I had was a coupe, and it definetly looked the part too. I had to scrap it after a year or so because of an engine problem. Apart from that for me, one of the best cars ever.Aug 24, 2008

Mine was an "exclusive" version. Race seats and spoilers everywhere, but an engine of 1.3 liters in a way too heavy car:-/ When I drove away from the buyer, the rearview mirror fell of. Had two accidents with it. Bad brakes. Had it for nine months. Sold it before it totally broke down. Mar 18, 2008
