1983 Nissan 200SX Reviews, Pricing & Specs

What else can I say...I just love the sporty Japanese coupes of the '90s. Acceleration was awesome (well, in perspective :), I just loved how a turbo engine's stock redline limiter is over 7200 rpm. For the car to become really enjoyable there's a lot to do: just rip out the stock brakes and suspension, and also the stiffness of the chassis needed some improvement (think strutbars). Unfortunately it was of the first wave of japanese cars to include lots of electronic gizmos, which tend to break down after a while and replacing them could be costly. However the gas mileage was acceptable, and boy, was it fun to drive.Jul 24, 2008

Mine was an '83 hatchback in two tone blue with an automatic transmission. It was a smooth running great riding & driving car that attracted lots of attention. It never gave me any trouble other than a sticky starter solenoid. It had a cool feature for the time, verbal warnings in a pleasant female voice. She would warn you when you were low on fuel, lights were left on along with numerous other messages. This was sort of a personal luxury sporty car with a strong running 2.2 liter engine with Nissan's trademark (at the time) 8 spark-plugs (2 for each cylinder). This was meant to provide a cleaner running engine and was said to bump up the power in the process by burning more of the air fuel mixture instead of it blowing out the exhaust un-ignited. I loved this car and sold it to get out of the payments because I was getting married which coincidentally ended in divorce. I don't miss the woman but I truly miss this car and would love to own another one if I can find a nice survivor some day.Oct 25, 2007
