The 1983 Ford F-150 was the first of the line to be offered with a diesel engine (a 170-horsepower diesel V-8). If you didn't need that much power, or the hassle of finding diesel in the city, you still had the choice of the Windsor V8 or a straight-6.

A great truck that is now over 25 yrs old so qualifies as an antique. Has only had one owner who maintained vehicle excellently. Has a bench seat, a/c, long box and low miles of 89000 km. It's all original. Feb 06, 2010

its powerful its got a good model and its really fun also it has cherry bomb mufflers it is a four by four standard super cab with a cd player 6 seats and it gos fast and its a bush truckOct 31, 2009

this was my first truck it had a inline six with a 4 speed but i swapped it out for a 351m and C6. had alot of money stuffed into it but all the mudding rotted out the frame so it is no more. the only thing that sucked was the bad gas mileage.Aug 27, 2008

own aussie f 150 4b4 powered by a 351 clevland motor. simple and easy truck to maintain. drives pretty good for a truck off/onroad of this size. xlt twotone color scheme adds class to tuff looking truck. while the interior is simple and neat easy to read panel with good vision all round.Dec 30, 2007

Always started when nothing else would. always seemed to surprise folks with her power. Still looks great after all these years,just like the wife! 1983 F150 replaced the solenoid and the lights will come on, but doe not try to turn over? I was able to jump the old Solenoid and the starter ran fine, I can not wrap my head around it.

Ford 302 Cam change.
What cam would you suggest to get the old school sound from a 1980-1986 Ford 302? I call it "no guts - no glory" that was done to make them lope but nothing major was changed in the engine.

302 Carb Engine Dies When Put In Gear
I have a 1983 Ford F-150 with a 302 carbureted engine that I have been restoring for the last 2 years. I finally got tires the tag and insurance and was ready to hit the road or so I thought. When I start the truck it will idle perfectly in park or nuetral put as soon as I put it in gear it dies. Any ideas??
