I traded in a Sunbeam Alpine when I purchased this car. The Alpine was a real piece of crap. This car was everything that Alpine was not. It was solid, reliable, maintenance-free, comfortable, handled marvelously and, above all, fun. I took many long trips in it and I was amazed at the comfort and excellent gas mileage it provided. It was definitely a unique car, too. With its "different" looks and one-of-a-kind idle, it attracted a lot of attention in certain parts of the country, especially the Midwest. Of all the cars I've ever owned, this is the one that I regretted selling. Some years later, I met the gentleman that I sold it to at an airport. He told me that he still owned it and that he was really enjoying it. I guess I could at least feel somewhat happier knowing that it went to a good home. Now that I'm retired, I'd be thrilled to find another one like it in good condition, but health problems would prevent me from really enjoying it, but I'll never forget it.Oct 19, 2013
