Overview

Few modern cars carry the presence and performance of the 2023 Ferrari Daytona SP3, and few will be built. Just 599 examples of this mid-engine hypercar are planned. It’s part of Ferrari’s “Icona” series of limited-run specialty cars.
What’s New for the 2023 Ferrari Daytona SP3
The SP3 is all-new for the 2023 model year. Its name honors Ferrari’s legendary 1-2-3 finish at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race. The Daytona SP3 is built on the same chassis as the 2016-2018 LaFerrari Aperta.
Design
The Daytona features bold, futuristic styling interwoven with cues from vintage Ferrari race cars such as the P3/4. The headlights are partially covered, and the small covers reveal the full lights when activated. Thanks to the car's aggressive aerodynamics, Ferrari claims it provides 500 pounds of downforce at 125 mph. It also features a targa-style removable roof panel, channeling the open-top racers of the 1960s.
Powertrain
Daytona SP3 comes equipped with a 6.5-liter V12 engine. Located behind the driver and ahead of the rear axles for optimal weight distribution, it makes 829 horsepower and 514 pound-feet of torque. Ferrari says this is the most powerful naturally aspirated (no turbo or supercharger) engine it has ever produced. Revving to 9,500 RPM, the V12 makes a glorious exhaust note.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Ferrari claims a zero-to-60-mph time of under three seconds and a top speed of 211 mph. The Daytona SP3 returns fuel economy of 12 mpg city, 16 highway, and 13 combined. As you might imagine, this finely tuned powertrain requires premium fuel.
Interior
The cockpit of the SP3 is as track-focused as you might expect from a limited-edition vehicle, but also as bespoke as you’d want from a car with a seven-figure price tag. It has a two-passenger cabin, outfitted in suede and microfiber like you would find in a race car; there’s just more of the soft-touch materials than typically found in motorsport. The form-fitting racing bucket seats flow into the center console area and have four-point racing harnesses.
Technology
There’s no center touchscreen in the SP3. Instead, all digital displays are found in the instrument panel area. There’s a touch-sensitive panel on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. For the rest of the functions, including operating the infotainment system and Apple CarPlay, you’ll have to use the collection of toggles on the sport steering wheel.
Safety
The SP3 does not offer many of the modern driver-assistance features that you’d find in even an economy car. You get the required airbags and a backup camera, and that’s pretty much it. The racing bucket seats can also accommodate more secure five-point harnesses.
Pricing
At the time of this writing, the 2023 Ferrari Daytona SP3 has a base MSRP of $2.25 million. As mentioned, just 599 examples will be made, and all are already spoken for. The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is backed by a three-year warranty with unlimited miles. It also comes with seven years and unlimited miles of complimentary maintenance.
