The Toyota Corolla's current nationwide average price is $17,982, and its year-round low is $16,777.71. - Owners rate the Toyota Corolla between 3.0 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

What should I look for when buying a used Toyota Corolla?
Across all model years, at 70.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
| Model Year | Accident-Free % |
|---|---|
| 2026 | 88.5% |
| 2025 | 85.9% |
| 2024 | 84% |

| 2016 | 45.8% |

Which Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?
The 2025 Toyota Corolla offers...
- SE: This is the sweet-spot trim, giving you a good balance of value and equipment, with room to add Convenience and Premium packages if you want more features.
- FX: This trim adds sport-tuned steering, a lowered sport suspension, snazzy 18-inch wheels, and a spoiler, making it the pick if you want the Corolla with the most style and a little extra athleticism.
What Toyota Corolla do most buyers choose?
The Toyota Corolla years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 7,232 | 34.2% |
| 2025 | 7,064 | 34.1% |
| 2023 | 6,044 | 34.1% |
| 2026 | 3,381 | 33.5% |
| 2022 | 3,257 | 32.1% |
| 2021 | 2,975 | 30.1% |
Those higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which usually means more choice in trim, color, and condition. They also sit close enough to the newest generation to deliver modern features while still offering used-car pricing.
What is the Toyota Corolla's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|

| 2024 | $21,280 | −3.68% |
| 2020 | $16,557 | −2.05% |
| 2025 | $23,142 | −1.98% |

| 2017 | $13,875 | +1.69% |
| 2016 | $12,777 | +1.96% |
Most model years are moving down year over year, which is helpful if you want to buy used and benefit from softer pricing. A few years are flat to slightly higher, so the Corolla’s value picture is mixed rather than uniformly falling. The 2015, 2019, and 2023 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year. The 2016, 2017, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with prices flat to rising year-over-year.

Should I buy a used Toyota Corolla now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −1.98% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −3.68%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 34.1% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 34.2%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $21,280. The Toyota Corolla offers a practical, easy-to-live-with character that makes it a smart everyday choice.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine supplies 169 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 151 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm.
- Tech: Toyota now offers a larger 10.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Safety: blind-spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert are extra-cost options on all but the highest XSE trim level.
- Starting price: Base pricing ranges from $22,325 to $28,040, not including the $1,195 destination charge.
If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for 2027 inventory to mature.

The price was good. As far as features inside the vehicle. I expected more. They are as minimal as it gets. If you are looking for a vehicle to get you from point A to point B? That is going to save you a ton of money and is as dependable as it gets. This is the one. If you are the kind of person who likes an interior that is going to spoil you? You won't find it here.

overall
The 2025 Toyota Corolla is the epitome of a good, cheap car.
Armed with a deserved reputation for reliability, equipped with modern infotainment and safety technologies, and engineered to be surreptitiously enjoyable to drive, there is a 2025 Corolla for almost anyone. You can choose between a sedan or a hatchback, a gas or a hybrid powertrain, and front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The performance-tuned GR Corolla is a legitimate hot hatch, while the Corolla Cross, a small crossover SUV, adds extra utility, but this review focuses on the Corolla sedan.
Verdict: The Toyota Corolla rightfully has a reputation for being boring. However, the current 12th-generation model is also more stylish, technologically advanced, and rewarding to drive than previous Corollas. The new-for-2025 Corolla FX sedan demonstrates that with exclusive design details and sport-tuned steering and suspension.
