| 2023 | 91.9% |
| 2022 | 90.6% |
| 2021 | 89.6% |
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Co-Pilot360 safety suite on the 2025 Big Bend and higher trim levels
- Infotainment: 12-inch touchscreen with Sync 4 infotainment software and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Fuel efficiency: 18 mpg city, 21 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined; the automatic nets a 1-mpg increase in combined and highway fuel economy; the high-performance Bronco Raptor is rated at 15 mpg combined
Which Ford Bronco trim should I buy?
The 2025 Ford Bronco offers these trims:
- Bronco: The base trim gives you the entry point to the lineup with two- or four-door body styles, standard four-wheel drive, and the core Bronco character.
- Big Bend: This is the best-value trim for most buyers, adding the Ford Co-Pilot360 safety package and serving as a smart upgrade over the base model.
- Outer Banks: This trim adds leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED lighting, and available turbocharged V6 power.
- Heritage Edition: This trim leans into the retro look and includes the Sasquatch package as standard equipment.
- Badlands: This trim adds bigger tires, an upgraded suspension package, a classier interior, and a front sway-bar disconnect for more serious trail use.
- Stroppe Edition: This two-door special edition is marketed as race-ready and adds a red, white and blue theme with a matte black hood.
- Raptor: This is the most extreme Bronco, with an ultra-wide body kit, huge tires, dramatically lifted suspension, and unique high-performance off-road modifications.
What Ford Bronco do most buyers choose?
The Ford Bronco years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2022.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 5,949 | 35.9% |
| 2023 | 5,609 | 36.4% |
| 2022 | 4,435 | 35.9% |
| 2025 | 4,429 | 34.9% |
| 2026 | 2,534 | 33.3% |
| 2021 | 2,242 | 35.4% |
These higher-volume years tend to be the easiest to shop because you get more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right trim and price. They also tend to attract the broadest mix of buyers, which helps keep the used market active.
What is the Ford Bronco's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | $47,325 | −17.05% |
| 2024 | $44,437 | −10.62% |
| 2021 | $35,884 | −9.84% |
| 2023 | $40,901 | −9.38% |
| 2022 | $37,102 | −9.22% |
The Bronco's used prices are moving lower across the board, which creates better buying opportunities for shoppers. The sharpest drops are concentrated in the newer model years, while the older years are also easing down at a slower pace. That pattern gives you more room to shop for value without giving up the Bronco's core appeal.
The 2022, 2023, and 2021 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Is the Ford Bronco safe?
- 2025: 5/10
- 2024: 6/10
- 2023: 5/10
- 2022: 5/10
- 2021: 7/10
For the safest used buy, the 2021 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.
Should I buy a used Ford Bronco now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −17.05% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −10.62%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 34.9% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 35.9%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $44,437. The Ford Bronco offers a distinctive retro look, open-air versatility, and genuine off-road capability.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: The base 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine spins out 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, while the optional turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine ups output to 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque.
- Tech: The 2025 Ford Bronco comes standard with a 12-inch touchscreen that runs the latest Sync 4 infotainment software, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included.
- Safety: The 2025 Bronco adds the Co-Pilot360 safety suite on the Big Bend and higher trim levels, with blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.
- Starting price: The 2025 Bronco starts at $40,990 in base trim.
If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Great car for outdoors. Ford could have provided little more storage space -- like above the glove box or behind seats. Noise level can also be further reduced, for it to be used as a commuter vehicle during week :) Overall, it is a very good alternative to Jeep providing superior offroad experience.

Ford Bronco test drive
overall
The Ford Bronco leans heavily into the past with its throwback looks and retro design touches, but under the skin it’s a fully modern off-roader.
Unlike some SUVs that only look like they were designed to excel in the dirt, the 2025 Ford Bronco delivers the goods. It’s more comfortable on streets and highways than the Jeep Wrangler and it offers buyers a wide range of variants to choose from.
Verdict: Buyers would do well to consider carefully how they plan to use their car day in and day out before making the decision to buy a new Bronco. While the 2025 Bronco is an extremely fun beast that’s a blast to play with on-road and off, it requires some serious compromises to use as a daily driver, and it's hardly a bargain.
