What Volkswagen Jetta do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Jetta years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they usually offer a wider selection of trims, colors, and price points. They also make it easier to compare similar listings and find a Jetta that fits your budget and feature priorities.

What is the Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

Most Jetta model years are down year over year, which can work in your favor if you’re shopping used. The sharpest drops are concentrated in the newer models, while older years are changing more slowly. That pattern suggests recent Jettas may offer especially good value if you want newer features without paying near-new-car pricing.

The 2023, 2014, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Volkswagen Jetta now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −9.67% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −7.22%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 41.5% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 41%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $18,822. The Volkswagen Jetta offers a roomy and comfortable interior, a big trunk, and German driving dynamics.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: One thing that hasn’t changed for 2025 is the Jetta’s turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It produces an unimpressive 158 horsepower but compensates with 184 pound-feet of sweet turbocharged torque at a low 1,750 rpm.
• Tech: With the 2025 Jetta, Volkswagen equips every trim level with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrumentation panel.
• Safety: Volkswagen equips every 2025 Jetta with IQ.Drive, which is the name for its collection of driver assistance systems and safety features.
• Starting price: Prices for the standard Jetta lineup range from $21,995 to $29,000.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
