This truck was my baby. I bought it for $600 out of a field. It didnt have a ton of rust on it yet. Just the corners of the doors. I swapped the diesel engine for a 1.7L Jetta engine and put a 2 barrel weber carbuerator on it. This thing accelerated like it was going to rip the halfshafts off. I had it painted some type of GM blue with a chrome pinstripe. It had a cherry bomb muffler on it that sounded pretty good for a 4cyl.

This is a versatile vehicle to keep as a second or third vehicle. The vehicle loads easily and carries it's load with no problems. The service parts are freely available and room for improvements and performance upgrades are vast. The wind does play around with the vehicle if it's very strong but the handling makes it stable on the road.

This is the best vehicle i have ever bought! how could you not like 45mpg. have had many offers and i wouldn't trade it for anything. great cargo capacity, not so much on the passenger capacity, kinda tight in the cab. power is not very great but it makes up for it in cost of maintenance and driving.

This car is my favorite for sheer economy. If it will fit in the bed without dragging, that's what I'm driving. Small trailer is no problem. Just drove 4000 highway miles during 1 month. 31 years old & a mighty little turbo diesel.
