95 A Series 2.8 TD (LWB). 142k on the clock. Goes like a dream although it's not the fastest thing on the road. Daily drive is over 70 miles and I average about 33 to 34 mpg so well pleased. Loads of space in it (had 22 large concrete paving slabs in the back and it went okay). Also pulled some pretty large trailers with no problems as well. X-Country performance is okay, with the 4wd and high/low ratios I would be more than happy to take the thing anywhere across Soltau or Sennalager (Tank Training Areas). If you can get a Landrover there (and I've driven those professionally), this would easily follow, the only limit really would be the drivers x-country skills. Build quality is generally okay, engine, being the 2.8 TD Isuzu is stronger than a brick *******, gear box matches. It has a strong ladder type chassie so no problems there. It does have the odd rattle but then most cars of this age do. My only niggle would be the electric mirror switch, it's rubbish and keeps failing, other than that it's good. Appearence is not too dated, it's got the larger tyres on it and I've removed the stupid side step things as they got in the way when going x-country. Cost? 700 quid from ebay :) 33 to 34mpg, oil change every 3 months due to the high mileage I do in it and I change the gearbox & axle oils at the same time. Overall pretty reasonable to run considering the size of vehicle. However I would not consider the petrol model unless it had a LPG conversion. Fun to drive? oh yes.... :) nearly as good as sex lol

With two teenagers into fishing, cricket and Rugby this is ideal with going off-road and coping with the amount of equipment they need. Not that brilliant of fuel consumption but then again I don't go that far most of the time.
