The Matrix is Toyota's foray into the nascent "CUV" segment: Car Utility Vehicles. As the name suggests, the Matrix is a mixture of coupe, hatchback, and SUV elements.

The Matrix was introduced in 2003, and took the place of the Corolla wagon, which was retired in 1997. It provides increased storage space and length when compared to a coupe or hatchback, but doesn't ride as high as an SUV, so it's not as prone to rollovers. I just wrecked my Matrix in what could have been a bad accident, and walked away with barely a sore neck. I loved this little car so much and it protected me so well at the end! Its incredibly reliable, and even the base model feels sporty and zippy to drive- this car is deceptively fast. Its also deceptively spacious; Im a handyman, and ran my business from it, no need for a truck. I took it on months-long road trips and with the seats flat slept quite comfortably in the back (tho admittedly Im on the short side). Rarely gave me any problems and never left me stranded. 9.5 out of 10; the only thing keeping it from being a perfect car is the absolutely awful center console -they shouldve just gone with the 00s camry setup, which was perfect.

Car has extensive peeling clear coat on the roof. Minor peeling on the back hatch. Passenger doors have large dents. Red paint faded all around. Engine is quiet and seems to run fine. Chose not to test drive. Cost is too high for condition.

Tha car is very very reliable, I had no problem with the mileage was very very and run great. I dont think it needs anything, everything works on it I mean everything. It did not leak any oil at all.

This is a great fun car to drive, awesome gas mileage. Perfect for a small family, student or just about anyone! You can't go wrong with a fun zippy ride for the right price! Has a lot of cargo space too
