Subaru B9 Tribeca Overview
Just introduced in 2006, the mid-sized crossover SUV Subaru B9 Tribeca is Subaru's first seven-passenger vehicle and biggest model in its lineup. It hopes to attract those who like the performance and luxury of the Legacy, but who need more passenger space. It is actually based on a Legacy platform, but with a wheelbase three inches longer, and a weight topping out at 4200 pounds.
The 2006 B9 Tribeca, named after the New York neighborhood, has all the Subaru familiars -- a flat-six engine, all-wheel drive, and loads of interior conveniences. It is powered by a 3.0-liter, 250-hp V6 engine and a 5-speed automatic. Base models start with two rows of seats for five passengers, but an optional third row can be added. The second row conveniently moves back and forth to provide more legroom, and both second and third row fold flat.
The front end of the 2006 Tribeca caused a bit of uproar with its all-new triangular grille, meant to resemble an airplane fuselage. This has been redesigned for the 2007 model. The interior is high-end, with a curved dash that flows into the center console. Dual zone climate control, heated seats, a navigation system, power seats, and a remote are just some of the luxurious features. ABS, traction control, and stability control are also standard.
So far, the styling receives high marks from owners, who also appreciate the smooth and confident handling of the B9 Tribeca. It's major drawback is low gas mileage, but that is to be expected of any SUV. Though the third row is too small to be comfortable for adults, owners appreciate the extra storage space. For 2007, besides the revised grille, the B9 Tribeca will also get improved suspension, with stiffer shocks and struts.

The Subaru B9 Tribeca has been well-received by owners across its model years for its solid build quality, comfortable seating, and smooth driving experience. Many drivers appreciate the all-wheel drive feature, high safety ratings, and spacious interior. However, some owners have noted drawbacks such as the lack of Bluetooth connectivity and less favorable gas mileage. Overall, it stands out as a stylish and reliable choice in its class.

What people say
This is a stylish was to move up to seven people in comfort. All-wheel drive vehicle handles more like a car than an SUV. Great sound system, leather upholstery and interior styling. Lots of room for cargo as the second and third-row seats fold down. Powerful Boxer engine. Comes with tow package and heated front seats, mirrors, etc. for winter driving.
I always wanted to own a Subaru. The way they look, their reputation, the off-the-beaten-path identity, all of it appealed to me. So I finally got one, and I was not disappointed. It is so solid and has such a smooth ride, I enjoy driving it any time. Everything about it is top-notch quality. I never worry about safety, because it has the highest crash-test ratings available. Plus, it has a unique look that says, "I'm a little bit different, and I don't mind."
I love Subarus. I have driven other cars and non so far can hold a candle to Subaru. The tribeca is awesome. Comfortable, so stylish, controls are so convenient, and the only thing it was missing, was me in the drivers seat. Now that’s taken care of! Lol
Love the unique trim of the front grill. Has most of the features one would expect from a high-end vehicle. Just wished it has DVD for all the regions of the USA knowing very well that the mere fact that a car is bought in one region doesn't mean it will not be used in other regions. Also lacks Bluetooth connectivity for a vehicle with almost all the bells and whistles that are installed.
I got it used so the price of $4,900.01 was a bargain. I like the ride and styling of this vehicle. I plan to keep it well into my senior years. It is a dependable vehicle and a great choice for a used car.
