I previously had a 2008 Scion XD before (totalled two weeks ago). Had it five years. Loved it so much, I bought another one! This one doesnt disappoint. If youre looking for a semi-sporty car with decent gas mileage, check out the XD.

Stylish, solid car, lots of fun to drive. Excellent acceleration and handling. Premium sound system. Excellent gas mileage. Comfortable and extremely reliable. We've owned it for 20 months and have never had a mechanical problem. We purchased an extended service ontract when we bought the car that we never had to use.

I have never owned a car that I loved so much! Unfortunately I have found after a year of owning it that it isn't real practical for a family of 4. We are fine for everyday things but to go on a trip, there just isn't quite enough cargo space for the suitcases. I think the car would work great for a family of 3 or less. This car is very reliable, fun to drive, cheap to drive and it looks GREAT! The interior is really sharp.

Introduced for the 2008 model year as a replacement for the under-performing xA hatchback, the Scion xD is a five-door subcompact based on the same platform as the Toyota Yaris. The new xA is hunkier and more aggressive in appearance than the vehicle it replaces, and it's also more powerful, with an all-new, double-overhead-cam 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces a peppy 128 horsepower.
The engine is linked to a five-speed manual transmission, which is standard, while a four-speed automatic transmission is available as an option. Antilock brakes with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist are also part of the xA package.
The xA is designed to be an entry-level vehicle, and it has an entry-level price, but that doesn't mean it skimps of features. In fact, it comes with a lot of nice and even unexpected features, including a first aid kit, a chrome exhaust tip, multi-reflector halogen lights, and a choice of three wheel-cover designs for its 16-inch wheels.
Inside it looks stylish, with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, amber instrument panel illumination, front sport bucket seats, power windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, air conditioning, a digital clock, and a six-speaker Pioneer AM/FM stereo system with a CD player and iPod connectivity.
The xD also comes with a sliding and reclining rear seat, which is borrowed from the five-door Yaris.
The xD is also available with a number of accessories that enable drivers to personalize the car, including a rear spoiler, a navigation system, a two-tone steering wheel, and a sport shift knob available in a variety of colors, as well as a premium Pioneer stereo system that can be personalized with a variety of skins.
