4.2 Overall rating
Customers say
The Saturn VUE has garnered positive feedback across its model years, with owners consistently appreciating its spacious interiors, good fuel economy, and dependable performance. Many drivers enjoy the smooth handling and versatility of the VUE, making it suitable for families and daily use. However, some owners express concerns about the vehicle's lack of power, particularly in earlier four-cylinder models, and occasional issues with build quality and transmission reliability. Overall, it's viewed as a practical SUV with room for improvement, especially regarding power and material quality.

All around great car. Aside from the transmission, there really isn't a lot of bad to say about this thing. You pretty much know what you are getting when you go for the base model.

Looked all over for this car before purchasing used. Only THREE in the entire country were available at the time (in black, sunroof, leather seats). Flew to Florida to purchase sight unseen and drove it back to Texas. One of the best cars I've owned. Reliable, easy to repair (none ever seem necessary) AND one of the easiest vehicles to tow behind your motorhome (my reason for purchasing). Just open the hood, pull one fuse and you are good to go. Ok...a couple of easy other steps like moving trans from park to neutral, but other than that, pull the fuse and put it back in when you stop to disconnect your car. That's it. I have towed her over 20K miles with absolutely NO PROBLEMS.

Great overall SUV but the 4 Cly is just not strong enough when mated to the 4 speed automatic transmission. Excellent braking and steering. No repairs in the first 2 years. Quiet and comfortable ride, great handling, decent fuel milage, comfortable seating, great visibility.

Overview
For all the powerful models that dominate the market, the Saturn VUE SUV has given family patriarchs an affordable and effective means for transporting the clan. This model helped diversify the Saturn lineup after the manufacturer invested heavily in the S-Series through the 1990's. Consumers know exactly what they're getting when they buy this roomy, 5 seat SUV. A word to the wise: if you're looking for the most stylish model on the market, look elsewhere. The VUE focuses on functionality and performance. However, with the introduction of the Red Line and the VUE hybrid in the last couple years, Saturn has shown that it can cater to a crowd that demands aesthetics and environment-friendly mechanics. Most users feel good about having converted their garage into a room with a VUE.
