Saturn ION Red Line Overview
The Saturn Ion Red Line supersized the Ion the way McDonald's supersized its menu. With a powerful 205 hp I4 engine, drivers could experience a dependable ride with powerful performance. This trim enjoyed a following among tuners looking to enhance an already formidable machine. Saturn plans to abandon the Ion in 2007. As a result, fans will have to look elsewhere if they want to buy a brand new vehicle bearing the shiny Red Line label.

The Saturn ION Red Line has garnered attention from owners for its exhilarating driving experience, strong performance, and sporty features across its model years. Reviewers consistently praise its powerful engine, exhilarating acceleration, and responsive handling, particularly enjoying the Recaro seats and unique styling. However, many express disappointment with the car's resale value, fuel efficiency, and build quality concerns. Overall, it remains a fun and stylish choice for those seeking a spirited drive.

What people say
very nice car with good pickup due to the supercharger which helps the ecotec engine put out 205 hp sounds great looks good handles very well traction control actually works
Performance: Quick acceleration w/ 205hp, handles really well and brakes quite well Build Quality: very minimal chance of rust, its body panels are plastic Appearance: Interior is all Recaro Racing which is quite nice, Exterior is sleek and aero dynamic Cost of Ownership: I fill up on premium fuel (92 octane) and its about 30.00-35.00 for a full tank Fun Factor: words cant describe it, quite fun to speed!
Acceleration is crazy. Sounds like an airplane taking off in 3rd gear. I have the perfomance kit on mine and I just fly! It is the perfect size, mid-sized coupe with lots of room for everyone and everything. I would put on some 3M protection for my front end...it has some pretty good dings from the rocks.
My first car with forced induction. This is an overall great car with many amenities. The biggest downside is the horrible resale value that comes with carrying a saturn badge. The engine is a work of art and totally makes the thrill of ownership outweigh the cons.
205 Supercharged horsepower. It moves. It handles well, and yet it's a Saturn. Stage 2 kits make the car rediculous, and can be done cheaply. Comes with cold air intake, Recaro racing seats, 4 wheel disk brakes, and more. All in all, best bang for your buck.
