With the V-4 engine and a 4 speed on the column tranny. this car was unique. That it also had a transmission freewheel made it a great car to drive on ice. Each time I thought I had broken something really necessary, a small task would have "Fifi" back on the road. A 1970 car with side window defrosters was thinking far ahead of the norm. I never had reason to use the rear facing third row seat, but it was there. I just kept going and going. I think it has 130 k miles on it when I sold it (a mistake) but it never used or leaked any oil and the original clock (analog) still worked beautifully.

Slow, but what are you expecting from a 1500 cc engine from the early 70's? it squeaks a bit but again... It really is a beautiful car and the build quality is quite surprisingly good I can only really complain about the fact that the dashboard is so this that you cant put anything on it. Really fun to drive but I can't say its really any good on anything except snow ( which it doesn't seem to even notice ).

65 bhp is not much, even in a small car as the SAAB 95. It was reasonably well put together, not like a modern crap SAAB, but it was rusty, hade so so brakes, a gearbox that would'nt stay in top gear. BUT, it had a lot of room for cargo when you folded the rear seat. And with a free wheeling gearbox (a left over from the early two cycle engines SAAB used up to 1966) it was not too bad on fuel. But it was a dog, uncomfrotable, heavy steering, sideways driving position, etc.
