The Saab 9-5 SportCombi is a well-regarded vehicle among owners for its comfort, spacious interior, and powerful turbocharged engine that offers impressive acceleration. Many drivers appreciate the generous cargo space and the practicality of the interior layout. However, common criticisms include the build quality, which some feel doesn't quite match that of German competitors, as well as less-than-ideal fuel economy, particularly with lower-end engines. Overall, it stands out as a delightful driving experience but has areas for improvement.

This car is just fabolous, it is not by chance that Clarkson rated this car the fastest in its class for passing and acceleration. The seats are the best of all I have tried in all cars all together. The driving experience is magnificent and definitely something which must be tried by anyone even remotely interested in Cars.

Great acceleration and handling. No repairs since new. Sporty and classic styling. Interior is sporty with good seats. Great air cond. Gas mileage not bad even on bio ethanol. Low maintenance costs. Fun to drive, extra power on bio ethanol.

Purchased my '06 9-5 SportCombi about 6 months ago for about 1/2 the original price. It was a one-owner car with only 36,000 miles. All the bells & whistles including nav for less than $20k ... and that was with Saab's industry leading CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) 7 year / 100,000 mi warranty. I gave the car 4 stars for appearance & quality only because I believe that a BMW wagon might have an edge over the Saab in this area. Even though the Saab looks good both in and out, it uses quite a bit of interior plastic and I'm still not sure I like the silver trim around the headlights. The performance of the Saab 2.3 liter turbo is fantastic! Put the car in "Sport" mode and it really takes off. Somehow Saab squeezes 260hp out of a 4 cylinder engine. I have the "Sport" package with firmer suspension and it corners like it's on rails. However, you do feel quite a bit of the road. Saab's have a very high depreciation which doesn't make them a very good choice for a *new* car. However, you can find incredible deals on *used* models. You literally pay 1/2 the MSRP for a car that is only a couple of years old. There's no way you can get a BMW wagon for anywhere near the price of a slightly used Saab.

Great handling very comfortable car. With the seats down it will hold more than your average SUV.

Saab 9-5 SportCombi is simply a new name for the Swedish utility car formerly known as the 9-5 SportWagon. The new name came along with a redesign in 2006.
The turbocharged station wagon combines the worlds of luxury, practicality, comfort, and efficiency, moving people and parcels around while attaining acceptable fuel economy. Besides the many safety features that are integrated into the car, it has numerous details that leave no stone unturned when it comes to securing cargo.
Another major theme of the 9-5 SportCombi is aerodynamics, as the wagon's wraparound windshield and headlights contribute to its overall drag-spurning quality. This car competes mainly with the Volvo V70, which is larger and less aerodynamic, although it is available with all-wheel drive, unlike the Saab wagon.
