For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is shaped more by premium-car running costs and maintenance exposure than by the basic appeal of the car itself.

What should I look for when buying a used Porsche Panamera?

Across all model years, accident-free inventory is solid at 80.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2017 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with a lane-change assist function, and parking sensors
• Infotainment: a 12.3-inch center touchscreen infotainment system with Porsche Communication Management, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, Connect Plus connected services, and a wireless smartphone charger
• Fuel efficiency: 20 mpg in combined driving

Which Porsche Panamera trim should I buy?

The 2023 Porsche Panamera offers these trims:

• Panamera: The base twin-turbo V6 and rear-wheel drive make this the entry point, and it suits you if you want the core Panamera experience with the broadest access to the model’s luxury-performance character.
• Panamera Platinum Edition: This adds exclusive detailing, unique 21-inch wheels, a sport exhaust system, and the Premium Package with heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, four-zone climate control, Bose audio, adaptive LED headlights, and blind-spot monitoring; it is the best-value trim if you want a richer feature set without moving too far up the range.
• Panamera Executive: The extended-wheelbase body brings extra rear-seat room for you if you want more limousine-like comfort.
• Panamera Sport Turismo: The sport wagon body adds extra versatility and a more cargo-friendly shape for you if you want the most practical Panamera layout.

What Porsche Panamera do most buyers choose?

The Porsche Panamera years with the most listings are 2024, 2022, and 2023.

Higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they usually give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right combination of price, equipment, and condition. They also tend to be easier to shop because there are more listings in the market at once.

What is the Porsche Panamera's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, and several recent ones show sizable declines. That pattern can work in your favor if you’re shopping used, since it opens up more room to find value in a premium performance sedan. A few years are closer to flat, which suggests some versions are stabilizing better than others.

The 2019 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2019, 2016, and 2021 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Porsche Panamera safe?

• 2023: 5/10
• 2021: 6/10
• 2017: 7/10

Adaptive cruise control is standard on all 2023 Panameras.

For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.

Should I buy a used Porsche Panamera now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −8.2% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −10.01%.
• Deal availability: The 2023 model has 32.5% good and great deals.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings. The Porsche Panamera offers a rare mix of luxury, practicality, and genuine performance in a four-door package.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The latest Panamera’s base twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 generates 325 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, and the EPA says it should return fuel economy of 20 mpg in combined driving.
• Tech: The infotainment system features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, Connect Plus connected services, and a wireless smartphone charger.
• Safety: Adaptive cruise control is newly standard on all 2023 Panameras, and the Platinum Edition also includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and parking sensors.
• Starting price: The 2023 Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition’s price tag is difficult to justify given the engine’s performance.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
