- 2022: 4/10
Should I buy a used Porsche Macan now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −4.24% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −11.88%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 31.1% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 34.2%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $66,684. The Porsche Macan offers sporty handling, a premium cabin, and a distinctly athletic character that make it feel special to drive.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: Base Macans have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 261 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the Macan GTS has a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 434 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque.
- Tech: Porsche equips every 2022 Macan with a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system it calls Porsche Communication Management (PCM), and PCM includes wireless Apple CarPlay and a navigation system.
- Safety: Every 2022 Porsche Macan has adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and the federally mandated reversing camera.
- Starting price: Our evaluation vehicle was a Macan S with extra equipment that brought the as-tested Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $87,670 including the $1,450 destination charge.
If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

CarGurus recommends the 2025 Porsche Macan
Summary
With 3,213 currently listed for sale and an average price of $66,433, 32.3% of 2025 Porsche Macan listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
98.1% of 2025 Porsche Macan listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Porsche Macan stands out as a compact SUV that leans hard into Porsche’s sporty character without giving up the premium feel buyers expect from the brand. It has all-wheel drive and a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission, and its reputation is built on being fast and fun to drive rather than merely practical. That focus comes with tradeoffs: the Macan’s sleek shape leaves it less spacious inside than some rivals, and higher-powered versions are noted for low mpg.
What also makes the 2025 Macan appealing is how well equipped it is and how much of its personality comes through in the details. Standard equipment has grown over time, and since the 2022 model year update all versions have had LED headlights and Apple CarPlay compatibility as standard. The Macan also offers a high-quality interior, a good reliability record, and a wide range of options and option packs, including air suspension, ceramic brakes, a panoramic roof, a Burmester premium audio system, and the Sport Chrono Package. Those choices let buyers tailor the SUV’s look, feel, and driving character, which is a big part of its appeal.
At the same time, the 2025 Macan is starting to feel dated compared with some rivals, even though it remains one of the best-driving compact luxury SUVs. It is a strong choice for buyers who value performance, a premium cabin, and Porsche character more than maximum space or the newest design.
