Price tag of $8,000 new. 5-speed manual, 4 door hatchback (with fold down rear seats) is roomy and can put a lot in the car. Simple car and easy to maintain. At the time in 80's, a lot of highways in Canada were single lane, so you had to occupy the oncoming lane in order to pass the car in front of you, so you had to accelerate further back in order to get up to speed before passing. Excellent gas mileage. Why cant they make a simple car like this with 50MPG today ?

There is nothing to dislike about an Acadian. They dont die. They take good corners. Nice and compact for a family. Considered a classic. There was only one probalem with these cars and that was they never die. I say if you find one get it, its a good old fancy sunday driver.

This car was just a thing on wheels to go from point A to B. Cheap on gas. Every things rattle passed 110km per hour and couldn't go much faster then 130. Good city car but not for long distance. No luxury at all in it. The windshield weather stripping was leaking and always ended up with water on the floor passenger side.

Standard Great Gas mileage 42 mpg , 360 in the Vanier Streets & on ice . Forgot to change the oil for 40 000 kilometers, never had any mechanical problem, one major accident though. Cheap to buy, much better car than the Chevrolet Chevette my dad had a loaner at point it was gutless. I wonder if any unrusted ones are on the road today.
