Released in 1960 the 404 was so ahead of it's time most other makes didn't catch up til the late '70s. 4 wheel coil susp., rack & pinion steering, smooth, quick 4 speed gearbox, (this is 1960 remember). It rode, handled and performed like nothing else.

Owned a 1968 404 gasoline sedan for many years.Tough, Tough, Tough.Beautiful front grill and stylish narrower rear and cool fins.Shift through the gears with one finger on the column 4 speed shift.Always comfortable seats turn into a bed---the french were thinking of all possibilities!!! Would love to own a 67 or newer 404 again!

performance very good acceleration-not bad braking-good handling bulid quality very good appearance very classic cost of ownership 20 liters of petrol per 220/250 km fun factor it is so fun cause it is so old u be very funny
