All round good car, older model still looks good for its age. One of the last proper opel motors before the hippy Eco-Tech motors. Low maintenance cost, fuel consumption not great in town with a heavy foot. You're not a true petrol head until you've owned a IS.

A classic small european car. Well built, rugged and simple mechanics. Not very good performance, handling is ok, but acceleration slow and brakes average. Cheap to run, but spare parts are becoming rare, except those that were used also on newer models. Good noncomplicated styling, with some nice details, looks great on todays roads. A fun car to drive, if you ain't turned off by the low performance.

The car was able to do handbrake turns, wheelspins and even on occasion go on two wheels. Considering it was old, and a bit rusty, it was solid and strong, and provided a perfect learner school boy machine.

Performace currently: 115 stock Hp (2000ccm 8V c20ne) 0-100kmh under 9sec, top speed is around 200kmh (with F16 short gear), fuel consumption (factory) 10,5l in city, 7,4 @90kmh, 8 in avg. the engine was Engine of the year '88, the car was the Europes Car of the Year 1985, and it had the best Cw in cathegory , until the Calibra broke it ;) It's a cheap, but good lokin cabriolet, with realtively a lot of power even for daily use/ even on events! My best time was 16,7 sec on 1/4 mile (officially) If you want a car, that gives you more than bringing you from A to B, than this is it! Has a lot of potential too! GSi 4 LIFE!

Impossible to loose your brand new drivers license in this 45 HP newer stopping stone age piece of technology. Great first car. I still miss it occasionally even if I hated it when I finally could by a new one.
