Which Nissan Titan trim should I buy?
The 2022 Nissan Titan offers...
- S: The base Titan S gives you the core full-size-truck formula with the standard V8, rear-wheel drive, and the Titan's strong everyday usability. It is the value-focused starting point if you want the Titan's main strengths without moving up the trim ladder.
- SV: The SV adds more flexibility with King Cab and Crew Cab availability, making it a smart step if you want a broader mix of body styles and a better balance of equipment and price.
- Pro-4X: The Pro-4X is the off-road model, and it adds 4WD, an electronically locking rear differential, 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, and Bilstein off-road monotube shocks. It is the right pick if you want the Titan's most adventure-ready setup.
- Platinum Reserve: The Platinum Reserve is the most upscale choice, with Crew Cab-only packaging and the highest starting price in the lineup. It suits you best if you want the Titan's most premium-feeling trim.
What Nissan Titan do most buyers choose?
The Nissan Titan years with the most listings are 2018, 2017, and 2020.

|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 1,219 | 29% |
| 2017 | 1,058 | 29.2% |
| 2020 | 906 | 29.4% |
| 2022 | 889 | 31.3% |
| 2019 | 848 | 29.2% |
| 2023 | 784 | 31.6% |
Higher-volume years usually give you more choices on trim, mileage, and price, which makes it easier to compare listings and find a truck that fits your budget. They also tend to be the years shoppers return to most often because inventory depth makes the buying process simpler.

- Price trend: The 2023 model is at −3.75% versus a year ago, and the 2022 model is at −5.3%.
- Deal availability: The 2023 model has 31.6% good and great deals, and the 2022 model has 31.3%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2018 model has the most listings at a current average price of $22,097. The Nissan Titan offers a quiet cabin and comfortable seating that make it easy to live with every day.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: All models have the same 5.6-liter gasoline V8 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission, with 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque.
- Tech: An 8-inch center area display screen is standard, while a 9-inch touchscreen interface is an available upgrade, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
- Safety: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on the Titan, and the package includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and rear automatic braking.
- Starting price: The Titan starts at $38,810.
If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for 2025 inventory to mature.

The truck’s features are mostly what you need and nothing you don’t need. If you are constantly moving every couple of months and you have a small family, this truck will serve you well if you know its weight limits . Very happy with my purchase and do not regret it.

This truck is probably the best value for your money in any vehicle. Being that the Titan S is pretty much the base model, it has what every modern day base model vehicle should have in features (wireless CarPlay, backup camera with parking sensors, decent size touch screen display, blind spot mirrors, etc) . Other models like the f150, ram 1500 or Chevy 1500, have very crazy unreliability compared to the Titan, I have test drove all other brands and models in the same class (base model) and 10 times out of 10 I’ll pick the Titan, not only for price but for its features and reliability.

Great truck. Comfortable and powerful. Love the V8. Seems to be the only full size truck without serious drivetrain problems.

Why it stands out
The 2018 Nissan Titan stands out as a full-size truck that tries to blend capability with a more comfortable, well-equipped feel than many buyers might expect. It came with a 5.6-liter V8 rated at 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque, plus a new seven-speed automatic transmission. Nissan also offered rear- or four-wheel drive, so the truck could be configured for different kinds of use without changing its core formula.
What makes the Titan distinctive is the way it mixes work-truck practicality with upscale touches. The interior was refreshed with the gearshift moved to the column and a center console large enough to store a 15-inch laptop, along with Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats. Standard equipment included Bluetooth phone connectivity, push-button ignition, and a back-up camera, while available features ranged from GPS navigation and SiriusXM Satellite Radio to heated-and-cooled front seats, an electronic locking rear tailgate, and a Rockford-Fosgate premium audio system. The Titan also offered a unique UtiliTrack-channel system and in-bed cargo boxes for better load management, which adds to its appeal for buyers who want a truck that is easy to live with as well as useful.
At the same time, the 2018 Titan had clear limitations. Nissan promised a base V6 engine, but it never materialized before the truck’s demise in 2024, leaving the V8 as the only option. The buying guide also notes that the Titan fell behind competitors in configurability, with fewer powertrains and cab-and-bed combinations than rival full-size trucks. Even so, for shoppers who value a quiet cabin, comfortable seating, and strong performance, the 2018 Titan has a distinctive personality that helps it stand apart.
