The Mercury Mariner has received positive feedback from owners across multiple model years, who appreciate its reliability, comfort, and good fuel economy. Many drivers enjoy the impressive features for the price, such as the Sync system and ample cargo space, making it a versatile choice for families and individuals alike. However, some critiques include a few recurring issues such as engine performance variability and slightly dated styling compared to newer models. Overall, the Mariner stands out as a dependable midsize SUV with a good balance of functionality and style.

This is mainly my wife's vehicle, so I don't drive it much. It is a very nice vehicle (it is a Premiere) and has almost all of the options available. It dropped the transmission at 2500 miles due to a recall, but it was under warranty and was replaced at no charge. It has been a great vehicle in the snow and continues to perform very well. Gas mileage has been decent, as well. Best observed was 27, worst has been about 12. Overall fuel economy has been 18.4.

This SUV is great quality and gets great MPG. It is a great luxury ride without the insane luxury price. Nothing has broken on it yet but I anticipate fairly low repair costs as it is a Ford Escape essentially. Quality SUV for a quality price.

The Mercury Mariner is a solid vehicle. Additional features are available on the Mariner that you would not find on the Escape.

I bought my 2010 Mercury Mariner in 2016 for 7300 with 130,000 miles its 2/23/24 currently at 251,000 and going strong. No major issues runs a little rougher than in her prime but I definitely think I will see 300000. Would love to find something similar when I get a new car. Wish these were still made most reliable car I have ever owned.

The Mercury Mariner came to be in 2005 as the manufacturer's smaller SUV offering aimed at younger buyers. Although it's the sibling of the Ford Escape, the styling is quite different, so it's not just a simple rebranding. There's a bit of a trade-off of power in favor of fuel efficiency, at least by SUV standards; the five-passenger vehicle's fuel economy ranges from 19 to 24 miles per gallon. It can hold a bit of cargo behind the back row, but if the back row is unoccupied its seats can be flattened to create a cargo space of more than 66 cubic feet. Although it contains all of the safety equipment that is more or less commonplace on today's new cars, the Mariner has earned adequate but not exceptional crash-test ratings in its three model years. Owner satisfaction appears to be quite high, especially on the well-equipped higher-priced trims.
