What is the best Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class model year?
The GLK-Class received a significant refresh for 2013, but our recommendation is the 2014 model. The 2014 GLK-Class has the highest consumer approval scores of the post-update years, and ranked first in its segment according to critics. As part of the refresh, the GLK-Class received powerful new engine choices, revised steering, updated exterior styling, a more luxurious interior, and more standard features, including safety systems.
What are the disadvantages of the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class?
- Limited rear legroom
- Less cargo space than competitors
- Poor fuel economy

Comparison: Is the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class better than the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class?
The GL-Class picks up where the GLK-Class left off. With an extra row, a couple more engine cylinders, and at twice the price, the GL-Class is larger and more luxurious than the GLK-Class in every way. So, if you already like the GLK-Class but also want more of it, the GL-Class is a natural step up. It also solves the GLK complaint of having a small cargo area.

The GLK-Class has an above-average score for predicted long-term dependability and quality. Historical data also shows that GLK-Class maintenance and ownership costs are average for the compact luxury crossover segment.
Is the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class worth the cost?
During its run, the GLK-Class earned positive reviews and consistently ranked amongst the top vehicles in the compact luxury crossover segment. The small CUV was dinged for its lack of cargo capacity and unintuitive infotainment system but was worthy of praise for its comfort, design, performance, reliability, and safety.
