2003 Mercedes-Benz G-Class G 500 Review
by Protour2003

Super awesome SUV

An awesome SUV.... Go anywhere, do anything. A true timeless vehicle.feel like a Mercedes on smooth roads. Gets a little bumpy on poor roads, do to its solid axles. Tons on power and torque. A cool around town SUV as well as an off road beast. Quite comfortable on long highway trips also. Would really recommend.

Avg. Dealer Rating: (11 reviews) "The absolute worst car buying experience I've ever had. The right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. Got conflicting answers from different people- one sales person sent me a text stating the car I wanted was sold, but when I called a few days later and got a different sales person he told me the car was not sold and that he sees it sitting on the lot. Turns out, the car was still there and available. (too bad for the first guy because he lost the sale). Strike 1! So now it's time to negotiate on the price of the car. It was advertised on CarGurus for $51,994. I am about being fair and not squeezing people for their every last penny. I told the salesman with whom I was working, that I wanted the car for $50,000, a number I know is very doable. He talks to his manager and comes back with "the best price my manager can do is $54,000." Are you kidding me?! I told him that was ridiculous since the online advertised price was $51,994. Surprise, I got the car for $50,000. Strike 2! But the worst of the worst was our certified pre-owned 2015 Jaguar F-Type S with only 18,195 miles broke down the very 1st day I drove it. Got to drive the car a total of 2.5 hours and 131 miles when it died. Turns out, the car had three faulty fuel injectors. Yes, the dealership offered to repair the car, but I wanted to return it at this point. I was livid. The General Manager told me I could not return the car, but they would buy it back for $5,000 less than what I paid.! This just poured salt in the wound. Strike 3! The experience continued to decline from there. Example: Sales Manager "promised" to call me back by day's end. Said he would not just "drop me" and would take care of me (those were his words, but he NEVER called me back in spite of 3 messages I left for him over the course of two days. In fact, I have yet to hear from him and it's been two weeks). I asked them to arrange for a loaner car equivalent to the one I just purchased, but they refused (dealership is in Vegas where the car was being repaired and I am in Ventura County, CA). Instead, they told me I could have up to $45/day to rent a car and then submit a receipt through Trip Interruption and jump through the hoops to get reimbursed. What a pain in the #$%. By the way, $45/day gets you a Chevy Malibu. I just bought a Jag. Give me a little something nicer please - and show some kindness and customer service and arrange for the loaner. Nope, not a chance! Radio silence from the people who pretended like they cared and promised to help. There are no strikes left. This game is over! But I am the loser because they have my $ and I have an unreliable car. I wish I never stepped foot on their lot. I would avoid doing business with Jaguar Land Rover Las Vegas at all costs. "
