What should I look for when buying a used Jaguar XE?

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2019 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: The standard package includes a reversing camera, a distracted-driver monitor, low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Jaguar offers the latest version of its InControl Touch Pro Duo infotainment system in the 2020 XE, and it works better than previous iterations of the technology.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says it should get 25 mpg in combined driving, but the car returned 20.3 mpg on my testing loop.

Which Jaguar XE trim should I buy?

The 2020 Jaguar XE offers these trims:

• XE P250 S: This is the value pick, with rear-wheel drive standard and a starting point for shoppers who want the XE’s style and core luxury-sedan character.
• XE P300 R-Dynamic S: This trim adds more power, AWD, and a more performance-focused setup for buyers who want the strongest driving experience.

What Jaguar XE do most buyers choose?

The Jaguar XE years with the most listings are 2018, 2017, and 2019.

Higher-volume model years tend to draw more shopper attention because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right price, color, and equipment combination. They also tend to be the years you’ll see most often when browsing used listings.

What is the Jaguar XE's resale value?

The table shows that used Jaguar XE prices have moved lower year over year. One model year has seen a steep double-digit drop, while the other has declined by a smaller amount, which can create appealing entry points for used shoppers. The smaller change suggests one of the older model years has held closer to its prior pricing than the other.

The 2017 and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Jaguar XE safe?
