Why it stands out
The 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid stands out as a fuel-efficient midsize sedan that gets a mid-generation refresh with styling and tech updates. It is presented as a compelling choice for buyers who still want the practicality of a family sedan, and the standard feature set is a major part of that appeal. The car also benefits from standard advanced safety features and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which help it feel well equipped right from the start.
One of its most distinctive traits is the real automatic transmission, which is described as a virtually unique selling point. That gives the 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid an uncommon advantage in a segment where many shoppers are comparing efficiency, convenience, and everyday usability. The main limitation noted is that all-wheel drive is not available, so buyers who want that capability will need to look elsewhere.
