The Geo Metro has garnered a reputation for its outstanding fuel economy and low maintenance costs, making it a favorite among those seeking an economical and reliable car for city driving. Owners have particularly enjoyed its fun driving experience and the quirky design. However, many have expressed concerns about its lack of power, especially on highways, and safety due to its lightweight build. Overall, it stands out as a dependable option for new drivers, although some find its performance lacking compared to other vehicles.

Car handled well even though it was not quick on acceleration. but that isn't why I bought it. The money I saved each month on gas made the car payments. In the 8 years I drove the car the only maintenance I did was change the oil without fail and bought four 12" tires once. I loved the car and everyone else made fun of it, calling it the "Blue Shoe" When they say they cannot build a fuel efficient car, they are full of it. With today's gas prices I'd love to have my car back.

These cars are awesome for gas mileage. Very reliable, minimal maintenance. Easy to work on and parts are plentiful. Make sure your life insurance is paid up before driving one though. If you are unlucky enough to get into a frontal collision, it's game over. Also, these cars are notorious for frame horn rusting. This effectively ends the cars service life since the control arm (A arm) bolts to it. When the rust has had it's effect, the control arm breaks free of the chassis which results in the CV axle breaking and loss of steering, thus rendering the car inoperable. If this happens at a high speed such as interstate travel, you are going to be at a complete loss of control. Check these areas of the frame for rust if you decide to buy one of these! Other than this issue, they are great gas misers and not to shabby looking either.

These oft overlooked cars were once looked down upon by me, but I'm hooked. I can travel from one end of the state to the other on a tank of gas and have some to spare. She never lets me down on the coldest of nights or the hottest of days. Keeping this car is more than that though... three of my four children were conceived in the back seat. Its a sentimental journey every time I start her up.

Good gas mileage. . .the only nice thing I have to say about that car. Other than that it was 55 horse power of powder blue ugliness. Was supposed to use it for commuting to school but the transmission started to go after driving it there once.
