Fun ! Fast ! First On Race Day :)- This is the most beautiful car Ford ever created. Timeless styling, paired with the fire breathing 427cid engine and an instant legend was born. The car was named the GT (for Grand Tourisme) with the 40 representing its overall height of 40 inches.

Fast, quick, stylish, and fun to drive. repairs are hard to do because its such a rare car its already been restored. The GT's more for looks and performance racing. gas mileage could be better but when your driving it, it doesn't matter.

This accurate replicar is NOT a kit; as it is manufactured by a legitimate factory in South Africa, sans engine and transaxle. This particular car #29 is one of two cars brought in to Hawaii where a prospective US distributor and long-time Ford dealer installed a small block Ford 302 crate motor and a factory-rebuilt Audi Getrag 5 speed transaxle. All other components had already been pre-installed at the factory in South Africa. When the distributorship deal soured, the car was shipped to San Diego, where the famed Bob Lacey put about 100 miles in the car to sort systems out and get some wiring bugs fixed. At this time, (around 2001), it was acquired by a retired Sperry machinist from Phoenix, AZ, who drove it home and proceeded to log another 450 miles on the car, In 2005, this is where the current owner, a long-time motoring enthusiast and collector found it and bought it on the spot. It was shipped to New York via enclosed transport and garaged in Southampton. It has gone through a continuous upgrading and sorting out, and in its current state, has logged 4200 rain-free miles. It is legally registered and inspected in New York as a 1966 Ford Coupe. An application for historic plates is pending.

This car is historic, yet even today will make the passenger scream when it gets going. It accelerates like nothing I've ever driven due to its massive engine and incredibly light body. However, if you are tall it is hard to drive one considering how cramped it is inside this wonderful racing machine.
