4.1 Overall rating
Customers say
The Ford Fairmont is generally appreciated for its reliability, spacious interior, and comfortable driving experience across all model years. Owners often highlight its unique design and the classic character it brings to the table. However, some find the engine performance lacking, particularly with the 4-cylinder versions. Overall, it's seen as an affordable classic that requires low maintenance. If you're looking for a fun and reliable ride with ample space, the Fairmont might just fit the bill.

Built it myself...its pretty sweet. 93 Mustang Cobra suspension. Trying to eliminate the chassis flex now, it wheel hops pretty severely. Built the motor and transmission myself and installed them over the winter. Gained 6 mpg by swapping the 200 I-6 for the 302 V-8

Sooo reliable. Although a little hungry on gas, I really like this car! It's so solid and smooth to drive - a real cruise mobile. Heaps of room inside, comfy seats and great visibility. It's great to drive, and sits on the road with great stability :-) Won't part with her till I have to.

Awesome car, luxury and performance. Leather trim, sunroof, factory momo wheel, XR front and body kit. It drives very well, great for long trips and has the power to be fun when you want it. Future mods to this car will be working the engine (302 Windsor)

I bought this car as a family car with a four cylinder engine and a four speed manual transmission. Went through a clutch at 50,000 miles. The four cylinder actually had a higher horsepower rating then the six, but you could have fooled me! Car handled well and the back seat was large and comfortable. the trunk was very large. The car was so low on power that it slowed down when the air conditioner was turned on.
