(3 reviews)Comfortable, big car. But the V6 renault engine, even tough it's a good engine isn't the best for this car, very average performance, and high fuel consuption. There isn't a lot of these car in the world, only few were made, and so parts are very rare and expensive to.
In 1992,Eagle Premier 4 Dr Es Sedan was sell until the award was reach in 2002 Car of America and 2004 Car of Europe. But he doesn't sell car again.Eagle was Bankrup made this product car close it in 2004 and staff was already discuss it he open again in July 2011. This car isa good job for you said,Mr.Halbert
Well I guess my Eagle is getting really old...they didn't even listed the 1989...Anybody can agree that this is a bastard car, built with parts from everywhere with a complex history. It was first designed by Renault and Giurgetto Guliaro (who also designed a few Lamborgini) that would've been built by AMC and sold in North America by AMC dealers under the Renault Premier badge untill Chrysler bought AMC in 1987 mainly for it's Jeep brand and the poor AMC nameplate became Eagle. The Premier was available with a 2.5L AMC 4 cyl with a 4-speed Volkswagen automatic transmission or with a 3.0L PRV (Peugeot-Renault-Volvo) V6 mated with a ZF 4-speed auto transmission (Germany). They also had Renault electronics untill 1991. These cars were uunreliable from day 1. Transmission problems were reported as early as 10,000km, not to mention the electronic fiasco and the car's unreliable cooling system. In certain US states, Chrysler had to buy back many Premiers under Lemon laws. Only 117,000 were made and sold. In 1990, a Dodge version, called Monaco came along, but sold in just under 20,000 units and never sold to Canada. The were built at Bramela's Assembly plant in Brampton, Ont, known as Brampton Assembly Plant, home of the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger. It's fun to know that the 1993 LH series (Intrepid/Concorde and Vision) design and platform had a few carry-over from the Premier and that the rear disc brake design was aslo used on the 1993 Dodge Viper. The Premier's competitors were the Nissan Maxima, Audi 6000 and Toyota Cressida.
