My first car. Mom bought it for $125 in 1976. It was a tank, that survived floods and other adverse effects. I'd love to get another.

Having learned to drive in cars almost identical to this one, I've always been a fan of the big & brawny Mopars of this era. I like the boxy yet bold styling, these cars look good from any angle, and they have incredible amounts of interior and trunk room. And even with a V8 engine, there's still plenty of room underhood, making maintenance and modification a breeze. Speaking of engines, this is a late 1960's automobile, from a time when engines were built to RUN, and run well.. A time when even the "small" V8 engine in "grandpa's sedan" easily made enough power to smoke the tires effortlessly and cruise all day at 100 mph without even breaking a sweat. This Polara's legendary 318 V8 is unhampered by any crippling emissions controls.. it breathes freely, and produces plenty of power and torque from tip-in to redline. Like most classic Mopars, it has far better handling than other "family cars" of the era, yet it has a very smooth and comfortable ride.. It's built very solidly, too - much like a tank or an old Mack truck - from real, heavy-gauge steel.. This car is 40 yrs old, used as a daily driver, with well over 100,000 miles on it, and there's no body flex, no squeaks or rattles. No smoke from the engine, either. And it gets about the same gas mileage as a new full-size SUV.. but while it's unlikely any of those will be around in 40 years, chances are this good ol' Dodge will still be going strong, it's "little" 318 (5.2 liter) V8 humming right along..

With 550hp/570ft-lbs of torque coming from 472 Cubic Inches (over 7L) of hemi power it is the most fun you can have burning gas. There is nothing like getting behind the wheel of rolling history in a car that the Ramchargers changed drag racing history with along with Chrysler Corporation's newly found dedication to performance. It created what is nown today as the muscle car!

performance; accelerates great through all rpm ranges build quality; it needed basic maitnance due to being stored for 15 years previous to me buying it interior; great exterior lines, interior is simple but compliments the exterior styling prefectly cost of ownership; pretty bad on gas, maitnance is very cheap due to the ease of finding parts fun factor; its an amazing driving car, fun all around, espically putting your food down and hearing the huge v8 growling
