1936 Design, built from 1948 to 1990, even in France a head turner. She climbs trees in first gear, but with its 0.6 liter engine, do not expect to break a 55 MpH facing wind. Worst case scenario, it can be fixed with almost a knife and a string.

Due to her age she has free road tax. Yippee! All the body panels can be replaced easily (that's if you can find replacements). She is great fun to drive and you can scare the crap out of your passengers when you go round corners and roundabouts really fast (as if!). Top speed is in the region of 45 mph (if you are going down hill with the wind behind you). Very fuel economic - at least 50 mpg.

There is just something special about a car that gets 50 mpg, can seat five people and is comfortable. Especially when it can carry lots of musical equipment into the bargain. But the big plus is seeing the smiles on peoples' faces when you pass by -- this car brings instant grins to almost everyone who sees it.

A 1976 2CV, Red with a black roof, silly eyes on the front, hand painted wings, square headlights, bashed back wings. An accelerator that fell off (!) at inopportune moments, and an ability to run at 45 on one cylinder! What an introduction to motoring ... £250 and I had myself a cabrio! A fantastic car!! Loved it totally.
