Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist
• Infotainment: an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity on the LS base model, plus an 11-inch touchscreen and an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster on higher trims
• Fuel efficiency: The Trax is EPA-rated at 29 mpg combined (28 mpg city, 31 mpg highway).

Which Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax offers these trims:

• LS: The base trim includes 17-inch steel wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and a four-speaker audio system.

• 2RS: This trim adds 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, black Chevy Bowtie badges, small “RS” callouts, and a more distinctive sporty look.
• Activ: This trim adds black-painted 18-inch wheels, a black grille with chrome accents, and front and rear bumpers styled to look like skid plates.

What Chevrolet Trax do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Trax years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

Those higher-volume years tend to be the most popular because they give you the broadest mix of availability, pricing, and deal opportunities. They also line up with the newer Trax redesign, which brings more space and a more modern feature set.

What is the Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

Most Trax model years are down year over year, and several are posting double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favor if you’re shopping used, since it opens up more value in recent and older model years alike. The smaller declines in the oldest examples suggest those years have already absorbed much of their price movement.

The 2015, 2016, and 2024 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Chevrolet Trax safe?

• 2026: 4/10
• 2024: 7/10
• 2021: 4/10
• 2017: 8/10

Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator.

For the safest used buy, the 2017 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Chevrolet Trax now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −8.23% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −6.33%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 32.4% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 32.5%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $21,254. The Chevrolet Trax offers a roomy cabin for its size, easy city maneuverability, and a practical, value-focused character.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: The Trax continues with a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, a six-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive (FWD), and it is EPA-rated at 29 mpg combined (28 mpg city, 31 mpg highway).
• Tech: An 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and a four-speaker audio system are standard on the Trax LS base model, while higher trim levels get an 11-inch touchscreen and an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster.
• Safety: Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, and a following distance indicator.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
