This car all around is a great car! I wish Chevy still made a similar model as the newer 2010 Equinox isn't an equinox at all and it doesn't have near the comfort or leg room of this one. I've had some bigger guys in my car that all commented on the leg room and comfort of the car. Gas mileage is also pretty acceptable. I know the newer ecoBoost style cars have more HP and better mpg overall, but for the money and the additional leg room, I haven't been able to get myself to buy a new car because i haven't found enough benefits to doing so. The AWD and Traction Control works awesome! I have a long stone driveway and I've had guys with trucks, my parents minivan, friends cars, that get stuck in the snow and I go through it no problem. Wet pavement and Snow you can literally just floor the pedal and the car will make sure you get going before anyone else that doesn't have good AWD. No car is perfect and all cars will have maintenance. I'm at 108,000 miles now and so far I've had minimal maintenance in my opinion but there were a couple big repairs but Chevy covered them under the 100k mile warranty. The head gasket was bad, replaced by chevy. I did have to replace both front wheel bearings, both front tie rods, all struts but having owned multiple other cars that all needed similar repairs around 100k miles, I'm not surprised and I feel its acceptable. I do tow with the car on occasion. I have a wood utility trailer I pull behind it that is a fair size. I don't use it much because it is honestly too big in my opinion as its just a little too wide and i think with a V6 engine, you need a trailer that doesn't extend beyond the side of the car you're towing with. A standard 4x6 utility trailer would be fine for this vehicle. Mine is about 5x8 and made of 2"x8" wood. Not ideal at all.

easy to clean, kid friendly, safe, no blind spots, easy to drive, smooth ride, lots of space for a mid size SUV. 5 drink holders. Great for everyday adventures. Couple negitive things is Drivers side window motor went out, but other then that its been a good car.

Love it. Great amount of space and smooth ride.Handles great. Braking is prety good. Acceleration is awsome. I have not had any trouble to this point. Only thing that went wrong was the battery had a cell go bad. The appearance is great. Inside has a great look and smell.

Spacious, power steering, center console, engine runs smoothly. Doesnt have hand holds inside to help getting into car; no cruise control.

The 2009 Chevy Equinox is a great family vehicle to own, especially if you live in a suburban area and your normal routine commutes are within 25 miles or so. The fuel economy is fairly poor, therefore, if there is a lot of travel to be done, this would not be your best choice. This vehicle is perfect for a family of four. Ample interior room will give your family comfort for your everyday commute.
