Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Driving Assistance Professional package with adaptive cruise control, a hands-free highway assistant, active lane-change assist, and lane-keep steering intervention.

• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, review how the car has been charged over time, and confirm the remaining battery warranty before you buy.

Which BMW i5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 BMW i5 offers these trims:

• eDrive40: The entry trim uses a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup, delivers 335 horsepower, and suits you if you want the best-value starting point with strong range and everyday comfort.
• xDrive40: This trim adds a second motor and all-wheel drive, along with 389 horsepower and quicker acceleration, making it the better pick if you want more traction and a stronger all-around performance balance.

What BMW i5 do most buyers choose?

The BMW i5 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choices on trim, color, and price, which makes it easier to find a match that fits your budget and preferences. They also tend to be the years shoppers compare most often because the inventory depth makes shopping simpler.

What is the BMW i5's resale value?

Prices are moving lower across both model years, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. The larger drop on the newer model year suggests recent inventory is adjusting more quickly, while the older model year is also easing down at a slower pace.

The 2024 and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

For the safest used buy, the 2024 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.
