Customers say
The BMW Z8 is celebrated for its stunning design, exhilarating speed, and responsive handling, making it a favorite among those who appreciate a true performance car. Owners frequently highlight its stylish interior and impressive acceleration. However, some drivers mention that the transmission can feel stiff initially, and there's limited cockpit space, which may not suit everyone. While the build quality has faced criticism from a few owners, the Z8 remains an enticing sports car that delivers on excitement and visual appeal.

I like a lot of things about my car, for example: the wheels, the cars model, the speed because it is really fast, it is very nice for races and for going to a ride, it has a convertible roof that is very confortable, it has confortable sits, it us very easy to drive and to control, the color is awsome (silver)

I LOVE this car! It really is a ticket-tempting machine...goes so fast - so easily! Only one speeding ticket so far, tho!

This one was an interesting one… at least to me this car was so easy to drive. It's 6 speed manual was so easy to keep smooth and clean. The clutch and steering column was responsive and gave great feedback. This car also has a "sport" button, but it should have been called the "fun" button… It gives the car about 800 (+/-) rpm allowing you to keep the rpm right in the powerband. There is the issue with the cars looks… you either love them or hate them and there is no middle ground on this one. I have to say the interior is awesome though… it has a classic and retro feel to it that just makes you feel like you might as well be in a 427 Cobra…

The car is superb in every way, fun to drive, good looking, and very rare. I like how the car handles like a beast and has a crazy powerful engine, but a down side is That there is limited cockpit space. This is a car for someone who wants a true performance vehicle. It's worth every dollar, I truly love this car. -T

Overview
For a car that had such a short shelf life - BMW only produced the Z8 from the 2000 to 2003 model years - the Z8 certainly got around the world of pop culture. In addition to appearing in "The World Is Not Enough" as the final installment of a three-film product placement deal with the makers of the James Bond movie, the convertible "supercar" was featured in several video games.
The car sold for more than six figures and with good reason: it had an all aluminum chassis and body and used a 4.9 liter, 32-valve V8, which propelled the vehicle with 400 horsepower.
The Z8 held BMW's production car performance records for several years, but struggled to gain praise from drivers and automotive journalists praised the car. One reviewer described the car as having "terrible handling and being an example of a car that never knew what it was supposed to be (supercar or roadster)."
