An amazing car, i’ve owned an older model im the past to so i bought i slightly newer one. Perfect if you want the speed and power of 2021+ M3/M4 but have kids and need extra space. Particularly the x4m doesn’t feel like a sedan compared to the slightly bigger x3m.

The speed, handling, and tech are great. The seat is adjustable and has lumbar support, but I am unable to get it into a position where the support does not hurt my back. I would still highly recommend this vehicle.

Overview
About the BMW X4 M
The X4 M is the high performance version of the BMW X4 SUV coupe. Like other BMW M models, it features bespoke engine, suspension, brakes, and other components for quick lap times and maximum fun on back roads, while retaining the practical features of the model it’s based on.
What are the advantages of the BMW X4 M?
- Fun to drive
- Standard all-wheel drive
- Powerful engine
What is the best BMW X4 M model year?
The X4 M was introduced for the 2020 model year and got a refresh for 2022 highlighted by increased torque from the X4 M’s turbocharged inline-six engine. This makes 2022-and-later models a bit quicker from zero to 60 mph. These newer models also have updated infotainment systems and driver-assist features.
What are the disadvantages of the BMW X4 M?
- Advanced safety features are not standard
- Not much cargo space
Comparison: Is the BMW X4 M better than the BMW X4?
The X4 M enhances the driving experience with its powerful engine (which produces up to 503 horsepower in Competition form) and track-ready suspension. But it comes with the usual performance-car compromises, including a higher price and worse fuel economy than the standard X4. If you don’t have many opportunities to unleash its power and exploit its handling prowess, the X4 M is overkill.
Is the BMW X4 M a reliable car?
J.D. Power doesn’t break out scores for the M model, but the X4 itself has received positive feedback from owners. In J.D. Power’s 2023 customer satisfaction survey, it earned a score of 85 out of 100 points, putting it at the top of the “compact premium SUV” class.
Is the BMW X4 M worth the cost?
The X4 M can keep up with sports cars, but unlike a traditional sports car, it’s also a practical daily driver. That makes it a good option for buyers who want one car that can do everything. But shoppers who aren’t driving enthusiasts, and who just want a nice luxury SUV, should stick with the standard X4.
