The BMW M2's current nationwide average price is $67,085, and over the past year that nationwide average reached a low of $58,290. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023 and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Older model years carry meaningfully higher accident rates, so always verify the vehicle history report on pre-2020 models.

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers
• Infotainment: BMW’s iDrive 8 interface with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: 16 mpg city, 24 highway, 19 combined

Which BMW M2 trim should I buy?

The 2023 BMW M2 offers these trims:

• M2: The standard 2023 M2 is the core trim to shop, with the twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six, a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic, Active M limited-slip differential, Adaptive M Suspension, BMW’s Curved Display with iDrive 8, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and standard driver-assistance features. It is the best-value trim for most buyers because it delivers the full M2 experience without needing a special package.
• M2 with Carbon Package: This version adds carbon-fiber interior trim, carbon-fiber paddle shifters, an M Carbon roof, and M Carbon bucket seats, making it the more track-focused choice for buyers who want the most aggressive cabin and hardware.

What BMW M2 do most buyers choose?

The BMW M2 years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2026.

Higher-volume years tend to be the easiest to shop because you usually get more choices in color, mileage, and equipment. They also tend to be the years where you can compare more listings side by side before deciding.

What is the BMW M2's resale value?

Most of the model years in this table are moving only slightly, which points to a fairly stable pricing picture for recent M2s. One older year shows a much sharper drop, while the newer years are clustered close to flat, which can be encouraging if you want a used performance car that has already absorbed a good portion of its early price movement.

The 2023, 2024, and 2025 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2024, 2023, and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the BMW M2 safe?

• 2016: 8/10
