What Audi SQ5 do most buyers choose?
The Audi SQ5 years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2022.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 571 | 37% |
| 2023 | 537 | 38% |
| 2022 | 495 | 37.4% |
| 2019 | 392 | 35.7% |
| 2018 | 321 | 35.8% |
| 2025 | 293 | 33.1% |
These higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a strong mix of availability, newer features, and pricing that has already moved down from original levels. That combination makes them especially appealing if you want more choices without jumping to the newest model year.
What is the Audi SQ5's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | $31,437 | −14.11% |
| 2021 | $29,386 | −12.32% |
| 2024 | $45,334 | −11.98% |
| 2023 | $39,626 | −10.26% |
| 2019 | $21,922 | −8.47% |
| 2018 | $19,718 | −7.37% |
| 2025 | $55,295 | −5.8% |
| 2020 | $26,505 | −5.45% |
The table shows broad downward movement across the SQ5 lineup, which can work in your favor if you're shopping used. Several years have seen double-digit drops, while the smallest changes are still declines, so the model's pricing has generally softened across the board.
The 2020, 2025, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 33.1% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 37%.

- Tech: Audi Digital Stage includes an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus digital instrumentation display and a 14.5-inch OLED touchscreen for the Multimedia Interface (MMI) infotainment system.
- Safety: Choose the Premium Plus trim, and Audi adds its Adaptive Cruise Assist technology, which pairs the adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist for highway use.

Customers say
The Audi SQ5 is praised for its impressive sporty performance, luxurious comfort, and advanced technology features across all model years. Owners enjoy the powerful acceleration, nimble handling, and premium interior quality, making it a top choice for both everyday driving and long journeys. However, some drivers have expressed disappointment over a few missing features for the vehicle's price point, such as a remote start and an intuitive multimedia interface. Overall, the SQ5 stands out as a stylish and powerful SUV that balances performance with luxury.

I think this is an overall excellent vehicle. Even with higher mileage, it is stylish and reliable, and has all the German engineering one could ask for. Not to mention comfort. And power.

Overview
About the Audi SQ5
The SQ5 is a sportier version of the Audi Q5, the German automaker’s compact crossover SUV. It adds a more powerful engine, unique suspension, and other performance elements while maintaining the practical aspects of the Q5.
What are the advantages of the Audi SQ5?
- Multiple body styles
- Powerful engine
- Standard all-wheel drive
What is the best Audi SQ5 model year?
The SQ5 was introduced for the 2014 model year. A second-generation version arrived for 2018 and was heavily updated for 2021. That update included the addition of a Sportback body style in addition to the standard SUV body style.
What are the disadvantages of the Audi SQ5?
- Cramped back seat (Sportback)
- Can get expensive
Comparison: Is the Audi SQ5 better than the Genesis GV70?
The Genesis GV70 is the Korean luxury brand’s rival to the Q5, but while the two models overlap in price, Genesis doesn’t offer a sportier version to compete directly with the SQ5. The Audi will leave the Genesis in the dust on a twisty road, but the GV70 has a more upscale cabin and more options for buyers not purely interested in performance.
Is the Audi SQ5 a reliable car?
J.D. Power hasn’t published customer satisfaction scores for the SQ5 recently. The Q5 on which its based received a reliability score of 75 points (out of a possible 100) for the 2023 model year, but didn’t crack the top five in its category for customer satisfaction.
Is the Audi SQ5 worth the cost?
The SQ5 makes sense for crossover owners who want a bit more performance. It’s more exciting to drive than the standard Q5, but is otherwise just another crossover. So if you just want a nice, practical car, the cheaper Q5 is the better option.
